[Costco] Costco: Samsung NU8000 82" HDR UHD Smart LED TV - $2,989.99

With Costco's $99 5yr warranty, it can't be beat.

link to costco: https://www.costco.ca/Samsung-UN82NU800 ... 13841.html
it might show the tv again, if they restock the online warehouse, like they did before.

EDIT: Other places with the same price, but no $99/5yr warranty

Here's a thread for the new owners of this TV: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/samsung- ... d-2265034/ if you have any questions or need help with something, post in there.

This TV is Edge Lit, instead of FALD. The picture quality is still stunning, check out youtube videos or go see in person. If you want to step up to next cheapest 80+inch TV with FALD, that might be the Sony XBR85X900F 85" Smart Television (2018) which is $5,998, more than double the price.

Was 2999 online as well, seems OOS now though. I think I also saw this in the Visions flyer this week

Great price for an 82" high quality panel. The NU8000 is solid.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

How big are your living rooms that you can comfortably watch an 82" screen?

I think the general price on this TV is currently at $2999.99 (costco with their slight difference likely and easily price matchable). BestBuy has it with their delivery and mounting service right now at the same price.

Warranty is up the buyer, Costco's warranty is pretty sweet for these though. Great price overall for that TV.

This is a good replacement for someone looking to upgrade their home theater. Benefits over a projector is that the image is brighter, no separate screen, watch it in any lighting. The projector's benefit is being able to project an image larger than 82".

Yes, NU8000 has great reviews all around. The reason for this pricing is, Samsung is trying to clear out Inventory of the 2018 models to make room for a fresh line up to replace NU8000

I have personally had really terrible time dealing with Visions in the past. I would not recommend anyone buy anything from Vision. Costco over Visions any day. Better and cheaper warranty. I think their warranty on this TV is around $400 for 3 yr.

Agreed. Visions should be out of business with their in-your-face sales tactics and preferred brands that they get extra sales commission on. They must be related to The Brick.

Back on topic, the NU8000 is a great panel for being edge-lit. Can't go wrong with an 82" TV in your house!

Unrelated, but I was browsing Best Buy and noticed they had an 85" 8K TV.

Didn't know that was a thing. Must be hard finding quality source media for that.

I saw that recently, I think its very much Samsung going "hey look we got an 8k tv out there just btw...." cause at 20k... not to many people going out of their way for it I'm sure :P

I can barely stream 4k over netflix. Samsung showing off. But to be honest If they have kick-ass up scaling tech in the TV then it's a little better

If you have the room for this BADBOY how can you go wrong at 3 grand? It will not outperform the LG OLEDS but if you're looking for a badass size screen this should fit the bill. Looks to be at all-time low price as well.

I think they're also priced lower like this one. I believe the 75" was ~$2,400 at costco. so 65" is probably low too.

Warning to potential buyers

This TV is stunning but has panel issues. I've had several exchanges and it's like the screen is divided in 3 panels. Either 1/3 or 2/3 across the TV this becomes apparent after a day or 2.

Take the risk but it's a sub par quality control and tech issue.

Our basement is just being finished and I wired it for either a projector or TV on that same wall.

We were looking at a 106" projector screen. The room is open concept so not a dedicated "theater".

Would this be a better option that a screen and projector?

A large tv is always a better option than a projector. If you are okay with loosing 24" of diagonal screen size then go for the tv.

You said the room isn't a dedicated home theater room, so there will be ambient lighting. The projector image will be washed out with any lighting.

And finally what is your budget? A screen and 4k projector of the same quality as this tv will likely be around $3500-$4500.

If your budget is higher then go with Samsung QLED or the Sony 85" I mentioned in the first post.
