[Costco] De’Longhi Pinguino PACEM365 DOE 6,500 BTU Portable Air Conditioner $499.99 Online

Not exactly a discount deal/on sale. But De'Longhi air conditioner back in stock online at Costco.

This one says it covers up to 450 sq ft. area.

I had originally ordered the PACEM360 model(rated for 400 sq ft.) from Home Depot on Wed for a higher price at $599.

DOE 6500 BTU/Approx. ASHRAE 11,000 BTU

Planning to cancel that one and order one of these as it's cheaper and has a higher BTU rating

Edit:
Hoping to post this so those that are still looking for an air conditioner, can find one. As I was one of the people that couldn't find one during the heat wave... not quite a deal but at least better than paying $1200 to scalpers on facebook marketplace when these are all sold out.

Thank you zkylalala for pointing out the BTU standards. This is listed in DOE 6500 BTE and not ASHRAE.
I can't seem to find the ASHRAE BTU rating for this exact model, but the PACEM360 lower model has it listed at ASHRAE 11,000 BTU

I noticed that Costco has DOE BTU ratings. For example I bought the Hisense 8,000 BTU from Costco and on the Hisense website the same model number listed as 12,000BTU. I think the 8,000 BTU is DOE whereas the 12,000 BTU is ASHRAE. Same thing to the PACEM365, lower model PACEM360 is listed 11,000BTU on the delonghi website: https://www.delonghi.com/en-ca/products ... 0151656001. If you find out that the unit can't cover the space you can always return it to costco but man they are heavy.

How "moral" is it to jack up prices during heat waves?

How "unrelated" is this comment to the post I was quoting?

Wally.... walllllly.... come on. Costco is not FB Marketplace or Kijiji, they are not scalpers nor do they have shady business practices when it comes to MSRP such as Canada Computers. They are selling at MSRP but I guess you missed the link somebody else posted, huh?

I should add, it’s not a heat wave driving up prices as prices on nearly everything are going up… inflation is extremely high at the moment. Cars are costlier, raw materials are costlier, semi conductor manufacturing is is strained. We’ve had prices increase at work as much as 20% and not just from 1 manufacturer. Welcome to today’s world.

I'm getting a 404 page for that link (and for searching for "pinguino"). Anyone else able to see that item?
