Do people use these in their house to circulate air?

Or is it for a shop?

Thank you.

I'm no product expert in the category, but this seems really over priced for a fan with a handle.

I thought so too, but decent quality box/drum fans aren't cheap anymore. For what this is it's not overpriced. That said the reviews are not favorable at least for the DeWalt.. Seems its more a brand name purchase than functional

I had and returned the Dewalt, it was really noisy but didn't really move any air.
If the Lasko is anything like the "superfan" that shared the same styling its a better buy. Smaller footprint; quieter and moves way more air.

Bought the DeWalt one last year; it doesn't move air very well, but at least it's loud! :(

Lasko fan is insane for sending cooking smells right out of the house!
Do you need it or do you want it?

Lasko super fan moves a lot of air even on lowest setting. It is loud but what fan isn’t that moves that much air.

Lasko:

Use it for whatever you like but if you just want a light breeze in your room there are far better (quieter) choices.
The fan is for moving a lot of air. Usually I see these brought in to dry up a moisture issue.
Some one here said they use it for clearing the house of cooking smells.
This one is very compact.

the dewalt I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

I live on the wet coast, would one of these fans help dry out the garage when the wifey parks her wet car inside? There is no fresh air vent/circulation in the garage. Obviously when the temp drops in the middle of winter it won't do much without heat, but I'm talking around 8 degrees-ish.

You’d need a dehumidifier imo

It sounds like the 4200cfm dealt fan somehow moves less air than the 600cfm lasko fan? I'm so confused. Are the specs made up?

These things are great for indoor cardio. I use mine while on the bike trainer, regular fans don't circulate enough air.

It might be that the DeWalt fan doesn't direct air very well, so it doesn't create a lot of "wind" if you aren't very close to it. If you installed it in a hole in the wall, it would probably move a lot of air from one side to the other as promised.

The lasko fan looks like it puts out a jet of focused air, so it would be subjectively powerful to anyone in the exhaust.

Sounds like people are the air speed moved by the fans vs the air volume.

According to the specs, the dewalt is only 0.17HP vs the 0.2HP of the lasko. Though, HP is often made up anyways and turbulence plus the venturi effect will probably matter far more than the 0.03HP stated difference.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Lasko moves both more air volume and at a higher air speed too.
