I know it ends with .97, but is it a hot deal?

Seems like a hot deal, at least using Camel as a quick search

I won't recommend this drone if you are using it in urban areas. Uses wifi and constantly loses signals

which drone would you recommend that doesn't use wifi and has good video capability?

If you are looking for comparable or slightly larger size then Mavic Pro 2 and Mavic 2 zoom are pretty good with signals.

Even the Mavic Pro 1 is pretty good with range and signals as it doesn't use wifi

Regularly $1079 so $80 off? Anyone know if DJI drones ever go on sale throughout the year?

A lot of retailers have it at the same price. Plus coupon, rebates etc will bring the price lower than this.

Don't forget the new regulations coming, Require license and immatriculation of drones over 250g...

I agree... Had this drone last year and had a lot of signal issues while in Greece and Croatia... I’ve read of similar situations flying in Bali and Thailand.. Sold and will be purchasing the Mavic Zoom 2 in the next week for Bora Bora and Hawaii!

Yes, but also they are relaxing the rules so you can fly in a lot more places.

You only need to register your drone and get a certificate if it falls in the 250g to under 500g range. The mavic air is around 400g and as such does NOT need a license to fly.

My experience owning both the mavic Air and mavic pro 1 is that wifi effects both of them, and both distances have had the same negative impact. I haven’t found one better then the other for me. Outside the city Mavic pro 1 is much better. Other might say differently.
