DJI Osmo Pocket and Expansion Kit Bundle $299.99 (save $90)

Pretty decent deal for a pocket size rig, don't have to whip out your Zhiyun/Osmo gimbal and put your phone on it. Smaller form factor than a gopro + stick anyways.

it's a decent price compared to other places but I really think these are a waste of money if you have a decent phone camera.

There is absolutely no comparison to what a phone camera can do. I don’t own one of these (yet) but they are very intriguing.

What do you mean there is no comparison? DJI used to mainly advertise this has a cellphone attachment because you can attach it to your phone for a bigger screen and for all the functions.

Where does is stand against Hero 8, has anyone compared both with real usage (not just YouTube reviews)?

This isn’t a go pro or a regular DJI osmo. This isn’t made for that.

Apples and oranges. As well as other's go pro comments.
This is a gimble with a camera, not a selfie stick. You can get a dji gimble for a smarphone too and get same results, but there is obviously a chance of phone damage during more extreme action shots.

How is it not made for that? Snowboarding would be a perfect example of usage for the osmo.

This is a osmo pocket, not an osmo.

Excellent product at an excellent price. Bought it for $400 last summer from Costco.

This is much better than a cellphone. And far more convenient that having a cell phone on an Osmo mobile.

I carry my Osmo pocket, along with my drone and DSLR on every trip. I take casual photos with my pixel phone and my hobby photo/videos with the above three.

Not when you smoke the gimbal or get water in it.
You would need the case or it would be risky.
