[Costco] DPS 3D Insight gaming chair @ Costco.ca 159.99 delivered

I tried this gaming chair at my local Costco yesterday where it was listed at 169 (or 179, can't remember) and instantly liked it. Checked it out on the website and it was $40 off. Pretty good price IMHO considering it includes delivery. Offer ends Sunday.

Also available in green and purple. Unfortunatley no blue!

Key Features:
  • Insight 3D lumbar offers multidirectional movement
  • Armrests pivot, slide, are height adjustable
  • Pneumatic height adjustment with tilt lock-out feature
  • Supports up to 125 kg

I'd like some feedback on this too. My son does a ton of gaming ... this looks like it's a fancy chair. Is it better to get a chair with speakers and rumble stuff and all that crap or is this one good enough? Thanks!

These two are less but if this Costco one is much more comfortable, I'll splurge.

Thanks!
If you're going to be on the chair for several hours a day, buy the best quality chair you can afford. Definitely don't buy anything less than $100. Really good office chairs are usually $400-$1000. Beyond that, they are designer.

Get the Tempurpedic TP9000 Mid Back Task Chair from Costco
Believe me, this is one of the best office chairs in this price range.

If you WFH, consider investing a bit more in your own health.

I had this TP9000 for the longest time, and very recently finally got Herman Miller Aeron

The reason I like the TP9000
1) Seat cushion is very very comfortable and supportive
2) Decent Lumbar support
3) Size is perfect for my need (I am 182cm and 70kg)
4) 10 year Warranty + Costco customer service

Hope this help

Thanks, but that's $400 and out of my budget unfortunately. I'll give the cheaper ones a shot.

Had this for around 5 months now. Use it daily

Its got good lumbar support and basic adjustability, but doesnt have the best circulation (since it's pleather). Plenty comfortable for daily use. A little squeaky when the pleather rubs against itself.

Def not bad for the price

I bought the Ikea Millberget this past weekend and it has been solid. Only downside is that the chair is slightly tilted forward so you may slide off if you're wearing slippery pants. I tried the Renberget and it doesn't have much padding. I would spend the extra 20 for the Millberget

Calling this an "eronomic chair" is like calling a toyota corolla a race car...
If you are 16-25 and care about the looks and NOT ergonomics, this will do.

While you can probably find one cheaper on Amazon( don't know about quality), this IS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the kid's chair in the OP's link. While it's not a perfect one, it is a real ergonomic chair.
As someone who used a variety of chairs, don't settle for garbage kid's chairs they call gaming. They were designed as racing chairs to look and mimic race car seats, and those are not ergonomic nor were ever designed to be.

My best office chair was a DX Racer I bought from Costco years ago. It had like a 170deg reclining back (they are less than that now -- probably too many people falling over). It has a lifetime warranty and the frame just cracked after years of daily office use but it has to go back to Costco for a refund and I haven't found a suitable replacement. I will never buy another chair that doesn't have serious back recline independent from the seat.

Also, everyone should google how to choose a proper chair. It greatly depends on your height. If you are 6' or so, a lot of cheap China chairs will be a bad option because the seat won't be long enough, creating tension in your legs over long hours of working. Those chairs were never designed specifically for North America's market.
And that's just one point. Youtubers use gaming chairs because they look cool on camera, that's where the trend started. Anyone who is concern about ergonomics, back, neck, leg,etc support should look into a proper chair.

For anyone that has this chair, how far can you tilt the back? Thanks

I have the red one of these. Fine as a gaming chair, but there’s not enough padding in the seat for a WFH chair IMO. The lumbar support thing actually works pretty well.
Unfortunately mine has a faulty gas cylinder, so I ended up getting a Secret Lab chair instead of a used Steelcase Leap and will be returning the Costco chair when the new one comes.

Actually I bought this chair and used it for a week; I do NOT recommend this chair.

I can't remember exactly why but it doesn't do a good job of keeping your posture upright, even the staples hyken which you can find for $150 on sale is a wayyy better proper upright ergonomic chair.
