[Costco] Freetown lumiere 2 MIPS bike helmet 45.99$

Got the helmet at 45.99$. As discussed on the prev thread this is really a good price with the MIPS technology. Also a nice backlight with available cheap dollarama batteries They have instore Bell MIPS helmet with similar price tag but aprantly this one is more recommeded by fellow RFDers for the better qualtiy making. Good luck to find one! US costco is selling for 40$. So its really good value!

Blubbs wrote: FYI, received this helmet today and it is very nice. I thought it wouldn't fit because I have a giant head like a xenomorph. Very long. However I just get my head in on the biggest setting and it's comfortable. The MIPS is great to have and it adjusts very easily with a dial. My head is medium wide so wideheads might have an issue, I can't speak to that.

I was really sad I missed this last go around, but this time looking more into it the coin batteries kind of ruin it for me. I wish it had a rechargeable USB battery.

That's where I am right now too. Coin batteries...but then I also wonder if there is some liability thing, A li-ion battery exploding as a result of an impacted helmet might be an issue? That said I'm not battery expert so who knows...

As someone who used to work in the bike industry, this is a phenomenal deal.

Used to be the price of this helmet ($40) was the DIFFERENTIAL between the same model with mips and without.

Being able to have a light on it, makes this insane

Did this have any head sizing like 55cm to 60cm or anything on the tags? I'm looking for a 58 to 63. Normal helmets cap out at 60cm.

I don't think you would know given this is a quote

According to reviews it’s $30 in-store Costco USA so the prices line up. Is it cheaper in-store here?

I believe in the original thread, someone said it was $39.99 in-store but this only seems to have been stocked out West.

This ships from B.C. and takes about a week to arrive.

As for fit, it's adjustable and in the other thread even someone with a big melon was able to get it to fit.

I have a really small head (like wear kids' 3D glasses at IMAX) and it is just a shade too big for me - but I wear a snug baseball cap when I ride for some visor coverage so the helmet fits perfectly. The adjustment goes pretty small. But the chin padding (yes, nice feature!) will be slightly askew. No biggie. #smallheadproblems

cheers,
:)

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the site and it didn't give anything specific dimensions but Costco.com did. It would fit me but not sure about my partner, he's normally an adult L in helmets.
