The true RFDers would take this money and buy 11.3 Wyze Cams

Yeah, I was going to comment on that too. Isn't a better value proposition to get wyze?

If you are talking to someone, then suddenly turn your head to the side while still talking... they'll turn and look the same direction you're looking at... LMAO it's GREAT lol so many people do that lol, especially if you do a double take lol, try it out :D

Some people like the nest ecosystem -- with good reason, just not good value.

Price per performance, nest cam sucks!

But focusing on just performance, Nest cam is high quality.

I have three outdoor cam and one indoor IQ cam. Works great and I don’t pay for Nest Aware.

I also highly suggest Blink cam if you are looking for easy installation and low profile design. I use blink for front yard only. I don’t want nest cam outdoor for front yard as it looks ugly and neighbor will not appreciated. I keep seeing security camera installed in front yard in newer neighborhood and just doesn’t look welcoming at all.

I second (or is it third) the Wyze cams.

These can’t be beat for the price point ($20 USD each).

No fees. 12 seconds of free cloud storage for all detections. No wiring except power outlet.

Only drawback is they are not made for outdoors.

Can insert a micro SD card and record day / weeks of continuous recording.

FYI. If you find someone to share it with, single unit pricing is cheaper than BF.

I had a fire alarm trigger (Nest Protect) which automatically turned on my Nest Camera. Then, I was emailed video footage of it afterwards.

A+++ Would almost burn my house down again.

TRUE Rfders would buy xiaomi dafang for $10 each and hack it :)

...But the ultimate RFDer would find a free andorid phone (old phone or one with a cracked screen or something) and install Tinycam

Bonus points if you had the pro version Tinycam back in the day of Amazon app of the day deals :-)

And extremely limited features. I like having it in my front window as a deterrent and to catch anything I'm lucky enough to get, but with 12 seconds of recording only, it's really hard to catch things sometimes. I also don't get notifications anymore and have seen that this is a common issue based on my research.

For the price, it's great, but I can see why people prefer other options.

slight exaggeration on my part  25$ was the lowest I've seen, I think.

Can I put it outside of my house, but under a canopy?
Is xiaomi or wyze better?
Any good one is under $50?
