[Costco] Greenworks 22 inch Brushless 80V Snow Thrower (399.97$ w/o battery, 599.97$ with)

Spotted in the Going, Going, Gone! section. Regular price 699$ (w/o battery) on the greenworks website directly.

Seems to be their most powerful snow thrower in the the GreenWorks ecosystem, any thoughts?

Without the battery:

With the battery:

would the battery from https://www.costco.ca/greenworks-pro-21 ... 18564.html

work in the snow thrower?
Yep, any Greenworks battery will work in all their tools of the same voltage. So the 80v batteries work in all of their 80v tools, including the snow thrower.

In for 1. Been tracking before and stopped looking. Once it hits .97, its a no brainer.

How does this handle the end of driveway packed snow/ice pile left from the plow?

For the sake of comparison, there is a 20" 80V snow thrower, 2.0AH battery, and an 80V charger on sale directly on Greenworks.ca for $349.30: https://greenworkstools.ca/collections/ ... nd-charger. A few differences I found so far are:

Impeller size: 20" has a 16" impeller, 22" has an 18" impeller.
No load speed 20" is rated at 1800rpm, 22" is rated at 1800/1950rpm (not sure why it's split)
Clearing depth 20" is 13" x 20", 22" is 16" x 22"

I'm sure there are other differences. I'm thinking that if you don't have a battery and charger you may be better off with the 20". If you already have the 80V battery and charger from some other Greenworks tool (e.g. the lawn mower / trimmer combo from a couple weeks back) then the 22" may be a good option.

What's the significance of .97 on Costco? Clearance price?

Another big difference between the 20" and 22" Greenworks snowthrowers (both 60v & 80v), as per Greenworks support:

Motor rating:
  • 20" models: 750W
  • 22" models: 1500W

Looks like I'm returning my snowjoe!

Also, the benefit of buying from Costco as suppose to greenworks directly. More peace of mind, at least for me lol.

This is so tempting, but RFD has made a large hole in my wallet. On the one hand, It would work perfectly with the lawn mover/weed eater combo I purchased from Greenworks earlier.
But on the another hand in 2022 I already purchased Sony X90J, the Echelon X15, The Lawn Mover/Weed Combo, a ton of diapers, wipes, Uppababy, and countless other things in the name of the soon to be baby.

Sigh...

Is this worth it fellow Dads?

I'd say yes! After spending hours after that huge snow dump earlier, I'm done with shoveling! I know I'll have to touch up but it better than not having one. Also, I could potentially get the wife on it too. She's always asking me for a "break" from the kids. Haha

One more difference Smiling Face With Open Mouth, as per Greenworks FAQ:

What is the impeller made of?
Most Greenworks impellers are plastic; the material is polyethylene plastic. With the exception on Greenworks 80V 22” –22” has metal/rubber assembly, dual stage has full metal.

I bought the 20" model without the battery for $210 in Jan this year. It works great so far.

I own this snowthrower. I bought it in 2018 from Costco online when I bought my house. I give it a 5/5 star. I bought it for nearly 799.99$ if my memory is right.
And I'm buying ANOTHER one, because it's really a HOT deal for $599.97.
Great find OP. Thank you.

I wonder where to purchase the rubber that's attached to the Impeller. Mine started cracking already :(

How does it handle the end of driveway snow mound left by the city? How's your battery?

I have this machine and its excellent. Its quiet, powerful enough to do my driveway and wrap around sidewalk. I already had a 5A and 2A greenworks battery - the 5A can easily do my needs, 2A couldn't do it during snowmageddon earlier
