Anytime I strangely take note of prices for weights, it tends to be $1/lb. Nothing special I feel.

Dumbbells can be had for ~$1/lb all day, but you're essentially getting a free rack (can be $$) and an upgrade to round dumbbells which are typically more money.

The deal breaker for me is the set only goes up to 30lb/dumbbell. :\

The set is $250 regular price. There is a rack. And the dumbbells are rubber coated soft finish.

This is a great kit to start out with. If you're serious about training (assuming you've never lifted before), you will out grow this set within 6-12 months.

That said, everybody was a beginner. Dont let dudebros talk you out of this set because it only goes to 30lbs. You can always add heavier weights as your strength increases one pair at a time.

Another option to look at is the Powerblock expandable dumbbells or the Bowflex Selecttechs.
Most people would say Powerblock over Bowflex, but I went with the Bowflex 1090s (10-90lbs) because I scored an insane deal on Black Friday at Walmart.

I'm very happy with them so far but I wouldnt pay the regular price.

At that time I'm like I don't need it, now I wish I had bought it.
