Oshawa, ON

[Costco] Henckels Cast Iron Casserole ($49.97)

Noticed this at Costco Oshawa for $49. Found the same one online at Costco for $79.99. Price appears to be liquidation. Ymmv on location.

How does this compare to Lodge? I bought a Lodge 6 quartz for $75 couple weeks ago. This one is bigger for less but I don't know about the quality.

This looks to be a 6 quart as well. Same size as your Lodge. Not sure about quality on the cookware, I trust Henkel. Have had the kitchen scissors and chefs knives for years - still great and sharpen regularly.

Ah yes, I assumed since the oval ones are usually 7 qt but this one is only 6.3. Still a very good price though.

I found that Henckels own Staub, so this line should be satisfactory even if it's one tier lower. There's also Costco return policy.

It’s a perfect size for a pot of Chili or soup. Even if you did a nice Beef Bourginon, I find it always taste better in a cast pot. Must be psychological.

At $50 you can’t go wrong. Great for a second dish to cook in for a holiday dinner.
