[Costco] Hisense 40-in. Smart 1080p TV 40H5509 (40H4009) $197 ($177) Online Delivered (Back In Stock)

Costco has these Hisense 1080P 40" Smart LED TV's for $197.99 Delivered Online, with $20 off with the email signup promo code $177.99. Comments seem pretty positive.
This might be good as a bedroom, basement or kids TV, or for those that need a smaller TV and aren't really interested in 4K. Also there is 90 days to watch for a price reduction and get a correction, if the price drops.
Usual member benefits, 90 days Return/Unofficial price protection, 2 year warranty, $30 for + 3 Years of warranty.

Less $20 promo code. 193 units available.

$200 for a 40" smart TV.

Feels like just last week I spent $748 on boxing day for a 26" 720p.

My wife (and her brother/sister) wanted to get their parents a 40 inch TV for the lowest price possible. I recommended costco because of the warranty.

We found this TV a few weeks ago around the same time the 50$ promo for a new/update costco membership so we ordered to renew our membership and used the $50 card (need to spend $250). We added the warranty and another item to make it over $250.

The coupon actually applied before tax so I think they paid around $230 tax in for this TV with 3 year warranty (including the $20 EHF). Comparing to other deals around I think it's a decent deal for a TV with 5 year warranty and a good return policy. :)

I was out of stock for a while but I guess it's back now :) There seem to be 91 in stock as of 2:37pm Dec 16 (Atlantic time)

For a $200 TV, I wouldn't bother with the extended warranty. The standard warranty + the Costco Mastercard warranty (if you have it that is) should be enough to cover any immediate issues. Anything that happens after the warranty expires, just throw the TV away as for $200 it's basically a throwaway at that point.

I know but we needed to buy for $250 to use the $50 coupon we got so adding the warranty made it enough so why not :)

Nice!!!. I added 2 in my cart but it was all mixed up with a grocery order pickup I was getting ready for. By the time I deleted all the grocery item to check out they became out of stock.

Glad to see some people got it :)

Search Sanyo Walmart. But there are reviews saying it's crap and dead around 1 year mark. I'd rather pay double to get this one from Costco, if it's dead within 2 years you still get covered.

It's more than double..
I'll report back in a year, not worried at all. Still have 14 yr old off brand lcd tv's that won't die.

Good for those who missed the sanyo w/ roku 43" deal, the sanyo also got 3 months of CBS access

If you think about it, the hisense got the costco warranty, so less of a gamble if something goes wrong.

1x Fido $40 for 5GB w/ unlimited Can Wide txt/talk small plan(+3GB bonus )

That’s why I prefer getting off Costco if the prices aren’t too far off. Their refund policy is nearly unconditional lol

It's a lot harder of a call for a $180 TV, for sure, but I am still a believer in spending that $30 to extend the warranty from 2 to 5 years. It does guarantee you at least 5 years of service out of the TV, or more, at least. In the best case scenario, the TV fails after 4 years of service, and you end up with full credit or a refund to buy another more modern TV with another 5 year warranty. In the worst case the TV lasts +5 years or more and you have wasted the $30. Win win IMO anyway. I don't believe that the Costco Mastercard gives you a third year of coverage, or at least it didn't used to. If it does, then that does make it a much harder call for those that have a Costco MC.

What's a cheap 4k TV going for on the lower end for this size? Around 300?

Also does anyone have any cheap TV swivel mount suggestions for this size? I'm looking for a bedroom TV but don't currently have any 4k TVs. I think I might want to try out a 4k for my next purchase
