I bought the m55 from Costco few Weeks ago., 800 taxes in.

I don't mind saving a few dollars. Is it worth the saving regardless of size?

The M55 is significantly brighter and with a wider colour gamut and local dimming (can cause some blooming). If you are not having firmware issues and are happy with Smartcast, the M55 is better. If you would rather have Roku, are experiencing firmware issues on the Vizio and don't watch a lot of HDR content or need as bright a TV, then you could save $400 and get the Hisense. Picture-wise the Hisense is closer to the D-series or may E-series Vizios.

For the people that bought this 50" TV, how is the viewing angle if you're not directly sitting in front of the TV ? I find its not that great.

Strange enough, the 55" display model of this TV at costco seemed to have better viewing angle.

The comment about TCL is spot on, probably the best budget tv money can buy. Check out Rtings.com before you buy....great resource for TV shoppers.

Can't comment on the 50" tv specifically as I bought Hisense 55R6107 for $460+taxes (in-store) last month. But, IMO, viewing angle performance won't be drastically different for any TV you buy under $1000. Overall, if you are looking to save bucks, Hisense offers great value for its price (be it 50" or 55").

Forget TCL and Amazon, I'd rather buy from Costco everyday of the year for superior warranty and service.

They do have great service and warranty....not sure that trumps a better quality TV though. Guess that's matter of opinion....Amazon has a pretty good warranty and service as well.

agreed for its sheer simplicity

, But the 58 or 59 inch smart tv 4k rca at rcss also comes with a an amazon echo all for $399. I think you get an extra yr warranty thru your CC too

Anything within 45 degrees either side is perfectly fine. Outside of that the picture begins to wash out.

The problem with these TVs and the TCL in particular is that its a lottery to see if you get a good panel. With Costco its easy to drop off and pick up another. With Amazon you have to arrange shipping back and then getting another delivered. Its also significantly dimmer than the Hisense.

I'm guessing the 120Hz refresh rate TVs are coming out sometime soon, maybe the reason why these TVs are so cheap nowadays, get rid of the old specs stuff for the better newer types
If they thumb you down I will up it just because

I agree for the 50". But the 55" in store seemed pretty good even outside the 45 deg angles. Could they be using different panel types?
