[Costco] Hisense Q7G 65 inch price drop to $897

This tv just got released a couple weeks ago and was listed for ~$950. Sold out fast

But all of sudden, Costco has dropped their prices by $50 to $897.99. Not sure why they did that considering how popular it was.

Great specs and well reviewed so far. Similar to Q8G minus the Wide Colour Gamut.

I see the 7G has 90 local dimming zones vs 72 zones in the 8G....why does the more expensive 8G have less?

Besides the wide colour gamut in the G8, what else differentiates the two?

EDIT Hisense website says 8G has 72 zones, 7G 90 zones, but this reviewer says it's the 8G that has 90.

Don't think it went oos the first time, was a preorder I believe they closed before release. $900 looks to be the new regular price which is good, waiting for the rtings review on this.

It's 90 dimming zones confirmed by Hisense, only difference from Q8G is WCG: https://www.reddit.com/r/Hisense/commen ... _models_up

Guess Hisense messed up on their website---If you scroll down you'll see:
65" 8G 72 zones https://www.hisense-canada.com/en/telev ... technology
65" 7G 90 zones https://www.hisense-canada.com/en/telev ... technology

I spoke directly with the reps and there is a reddit forum, attached, where the rep replies. Both 55 inch models are 72 dimming zones. The 65 inch models are 90.

Thanks. Submitted a price adjustment request!

On another note - Is it worth getting the extra warranty? I purchased it on May 27th so I still have some time I believe...

I'm going to provide a similar answer as the other thread lol

TCL 6 is more like Hisense's 7 (a bit lower end), 8 or 9 series.

So, this one should be close in colour quality and in detail. The biggest difference you will see is that the Hisense TVs only go up to 700 nits in brightness and the TCL 6 (2018) goes up to 1200 nits in brightness. TCL 6 (2019/2020) is "not as bright" according to rtings.com

After this adjustment, I think Costco wins for me. At this price, you’re paying $100 more for WCG is not justified (imo), especially for a difference I can barely notice (if at all). Plus, Costco warranty and assurance are bonus points

Depends on your use case. Q7G/Q8G are better than the M series but I believe on par, if not slightly better than the 6 series 2018. It really depends on your use case - if you want a bright tv, go 6 series. If you want a tv with good motion handling and grey uniformity (according to initial reviews), go Q7G/Q8G.

How's Android TV OS these days? I always liked Roku TV better but and prefer to buy TV with Roku tv os. but at this price, it's tempting and would consider buy Android TV.

I just sent them an email. Stating that it wouldn't let me load the price adjustment form.

Update: They did the price match no problem and the TV got delivered this morning!
I'm sure they'll do it. No reason not to. If that doesen't work. I'll call in and wait 2 hours on the line!
