I have a friend who needs a computer in this price range. For those who think this is a cold deal, can you suggest anything better around this price range? Thanks in advance.

Well here's the exact same laptop at Bestbuy for $50 cheaper https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hp ... 0/13863131

(The RFD formatting is breaking your link, not sure if this one will work or not..... )

Almost the same laptop with the difference being a 512GB SSD in the Costco version which would account for the extra $50.

Thank you all. However I'm still confused.
I think the $50 extra is worth it. But are there other laptops within the same range with better specs? Again, thank you all in advance.

This is probably the best deal right now for $600 laptops. Its icelake so its at least equivalent to Amd 7nm. At this price point AMD is still using their awful A-series chips.

If you can get up to $800 then you can look at amd 4500u and up laptops.

Computers and components will be much cheaper VERY SOON due to the manufacturer reopenings. RAM / mobo price dropped to early 2020 level. Video cards not so soon.

I know u guys are downvoting away, just know that this is one ot the best deals u will come across when you are willing to spend 600 dollars or less.

Or be stuck with spending 700 dollars with 8 gen chip with just 256 gb ssd

Do you mean 8th gen intel ? I’m looking at an 8350u i5. Aren’t those pretty solid? (no gaming or heavy use for me)

I would grab this laptop but it appears the keyboard is not backlit. Shucks. Makes a world of a difference having a backlit keyboard.

Just bought it today.
Noticed the fan is a bit loud, the speed overall is vast.
