8gb is low demand, that is why it is 599.

Damn, tempted to pick this up to replace an old chromebook. Seems like it could be good for some light gaming too.

The screen res kinda kills any light gaming capabilities.

I didn't see touch screen in the specs, so I assume not?

I got the 8gb version at $599 then but returned it later. The lady at customer service asked why and said I was the only one who returned it. LOL

What I like:
1. Beautiful 16:10 matte screen

2. Super light weight

What I don't like:
1. The build is quite flimsy, plastic feel. Especially the top cover is too soft. I suspect moderate pressure on it will crack the LCD screen. My daughter's Surface go laptop and the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 360 I got at $5xx as well feel much sturdier.

2. Battery life is disappointing.

3. Wifi is buggy. I had to manually reconnected my wifi from time to time after waking it up from sleep.

4. No touch screen

5. Webcam is low quality.

Ordered last Friday and already received. Weird problem — the L key isn’t very responsive. Have to really press it and maybe 50% of the time it knows i am trying to type l or L. Every other key works properly except L

Eg i can try to type the alphabet and it’ll register nicely at first, but end up as jkmnop etc Disappointed But Relieved Face

So you took the L on this one.

Unfortunate.

Speak to Costco about warranty, or replacement if it's within 90 days.

So we have the 2021 version with the 5600u and 8 gb of ram. We got it for our 14 year old for school and he absolutely loves this thing. Its very snappy, the screen is very bright and good quality overall. Yes the build is mostly plastic but it still feels more then solid considering how light weight it is. It lives in and out of his school back pack, the battery life is more then good enough for a full school day with plenty of charge left. He usually comes home and hooks it up to his monitor set up in his room with an external keyboard and mouse and runs it in clamshell mode.

He uses the edge browser which I think plays a big role in how well in runs with 8gb of ram as edge will automatically put to sleep the tabs he hasn't used in awhile to keep the ram freed up. He regularly has a dozen tabs open and playing some game like Minecraft or Roblox as well with no hiccups. The fans you literally never hear unless you put your ear to where they are, they are super quiet which is a huge plus for in class for him.

Overall, this is a great buy at $799 for a QHD screen, 16gb of ram and 512gb ssd with a AMD Zen 3 hexacore processor.
