The Ottawa east Costco also had smart keyboards on sale ($30 off).

Your link is the latest 2020 model. OP is the previous model.
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and getting the stuff I want without paying full price like Joe Shmoe did.
This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.

These have been out of stock online for over a month now.

Not many warehouses in Ontario have them in stock. Definately none in the GTA.

I bought the last 12.9" 256gb in Ajax back on March 26. Back then the only warehouse close to the GTA that had 1 in stock was Brampton. I purchased mine for $1,299 at that time. At $1,149 it's a no brainer if you can find one in stock.
Good luck and happy hunting.

This may be very YMMV.

At $1,149 for the 256GB it's a $270 price difference for the 2020 model ($1,419). Not much difference and if you don't really need the extra RAM a savings of $270 isn't bad. The 2020 model is very nice; however I would rather save $270 for the few upgrades that were made if I could find this deal.

My big issue regardless if you get the 2018 or 2020 12.9” iPad Pro is the price of the “Magic” keyboard.

$450? What’s the deal there?

You can go through the education store to save a bit. The base 2020 model drops from 1299 to 1169. Ive never been asked to provide any sort of ID.

The Magic keyboard is a step above all the other keyboard solutions, and the trackpad is especially good. It's the best solution for a person who really wants to try to replace their laptop with an iPad. You pay a really steep price for it. but it's the best.

Having said that, I'd rather stick with a laptop. iPadOS is still not there yet, maybe in 5-10 years (?), the ecosystem and apps will be there, and we'll all be saying, "remember those days when we ran MacOS" and carried around non-touchscreen laptops?

It is a hell of deal compared to the Mac Pro wheels for 869.

I had to do a double take... who has ever said “gosh, I wish I had industrial wheels for my Mac”!

I don’t get it. Also $1300 for a IPad Pro stand... who has a need for it?

The stand is not for an iPad Pro. It’s for a $6300-$7500 Pro Display XDR monitor, and the stand is actually best in class. So, it strangely enough could actually be worth it for someone in this market.

The Mac Pro wheels are a rip off, but are not necessary for most people. So it’s $0 if you get standard the feet and $500 if you order the wheels at the time you order the Mac Pro. $869 is pricing after the fact, if you order them separately.
