typing from an iphone 6s plus .. the phone still runs without any issues .. software upgrades come regularly , only thing I did to this phone was changed the battery when that apple offer came .. its not a comparison with android phones ( android phones are very good and high quality too and some of them have better cameras than that year iphone models ), thing is apple phones give you a really good service that makes up for the high cost .. why people keep on buying these phones

Ummmm.....nope. And this is coming from a guy that only uses MacBooks and iPads.
So there’s an android phone that’s of better quality than this at $399? do tell.

Its still well made and works beautifully, better quality product than any other phone out there at $399 and don’t give me no quad core 8gb ram android specs.
Lol, works beautifully? Maybe if you never update it. How can a four year old phone work beautifully with new apps. My $700 second generation iPad would not open Netflix 4 years after I bought it. I would think spending 500 dollars on a phone from 4 years ago is just about the most insane thing I’ve ever heard. Especially by people on a deals forum. My wife has a 7 plus and she can’t even bare to look at the pictures it takes.

Yeah, the battery deal is over though, so now you’re actually spending like 650 plus tax for an ancient device.

The iPhone 6S is 10% slower than Apple's latest and greatest. So it will not easily obsolete. The iPhone 6 is an another animal. Costco is asking for too much money though.

Ummm. The 6s has a geekbench multicore rating of just over 3000 while the latest and greatest is more than 11,000. Unless my math is off?

haven’t seen it mentioned in this thread but this was the last iphone to include the 3.5 mm headphone jack. so for people that want a phone with both iOS and the jack this is basically the best model available and could be a useful offer. thanks op.
As much as I want a headphone jack, I’d rather get an actual usable phone and use Bluetooth, than break my eyes squinting at a tiny screen to play snake.

Why do these posts with super negative feedback stay on the front page?
Literally my most hated element of rfd’s. I think it’s just based on how many people view/respond. Same reason there are posts from like a year ago in the hot deals, cause 4000 people have discussed some crappy android watch from Verizon

Horrible deal. Why would you pay that much when you can get it for free or almost free. Don't ask me how. Anyways, I had a hard time selling my Mint condition 6s 128GB.

A 6S has 2GB ram. Your ipad 2nd gen has 512MB and is a 32-bit processor. IOS 9 needed more of that 512MB memory for the new features. Those 3 things killed the ipad 2 more than anything. All apps are now 64-bit. I can't be sure but I thought Apple added some work-around tech to allow the ipad2 to run those new apps for a while. But it took a major hit in doing so.

The 6S has lots of life in it. Whether Apple chooses to obsolete it prematurely is out of our control.

As to other points of longevity, I'm still using an iphone 4 (not S) single core on IOS 7. Boots plenty fast. Can't run new apps, browser is extremely slow (256MB) but I mainly use it for texting and get this...I use it as a phone Smiling Face With Open Mouth It also works quite well as a hot spot. It serves up data (via Fizz) to other phones fast enough. Those newer phones in the family can tether and still render in a browser faster than my little 4. But it serves its purpose!

By the way, my ipad 2 works just fine with Netflix (as does my 5th gen) so perhaps you need some tech support.
Just checked, even my iphone 4 still runs Netflix fineSmiling Face With Sunglasses.

The 6S is tempting tho. Perhaps at a slightly lower price or I try out Koodo.
