There are several models ranging from ~$300 to $600+

The Artisan series have 300W motors and are often on sale for $300.

This one is the Professional series with the 590W motor.. they rarely drop this low.

From what I read the Costco model is made out of cheaper parts than the regular 6qt model. But for 300$ it's still a good price.

Bought mine used for 230$ (not Costco), very happy with it!

Isn't there something about the bowl on costco models being different?

Besides that, any difference from the regular version? Compatible with all the same parts that you can buy for the regular version?

I think the costco one has a slightly different shaped bowl (atleast the model I got a few years back). I have had it now about 5 years and it has been well used and been flawless. Only accessory I have added is a pasta attachment, which works great.

There was a period when they were using plastic gears but this one specifically states all metal. Now, there are different grades of metal.

The reviews at Costco are misleading since they didn't purge the old reviews for the old model when they switched over to this one.

At one point Costco sold a specific model that had an incomparable bowl from normal KitchenAid. And at some point all KitchenAid had plastic gears but that is no longer true. As of now their model is a near exact copy of the KitchenAid. I believed eve the motor itself is a slightly different wattage (590 vs 580 or something) but is supposed to be just as reliable.
