[Costco] LED Bathroom Mirror $89.99(shipped) or $79.99 ymmv

Saw this mirror at Costco today. Was pretty angry as mine(diff. Brand) was so much more lol this is as cheap as I have seen a LED mirror style like this and it looks more or less the same as mine.

Costco shows it $20 off when I bought mine a few months ago this was not in-store or online.

Hopefully this helps someone out there.

1. Does anyone have history/experience with the brand Artika (they make lots of cool looking LED light fixtures too)?
2. Do these new flashy LED light mirrors last long?
3. Do you have to punch a hole behind the mirror and extend a power line from the nearest electrical switch to power the mirror?

Thanks!

I can only speak to 1, which is that I have a couple of their cool looking LED light fixtures and I'm very happy with them. They look great, light the room well, are dimmable, and very inexpensive. I'm not sure about the longevity yet since it's only been a few months, but no cause for concern so far.

For what it's worth, I saw OP's mirror in person at Costco yesterday and thought it looked great.

I've seen another brand of these I think it was OVE or something. The wiring required turned me away I'm guessing this is similar

So I bought two of these and I'm debating with my family how to wire them. Do you think I will need a separate switch for this? And what about lights above the mirror? Like if i don't put a appliance box above the mirror, what if someone in the future decided to replace this with a regular mirror?
I already have 1) fan 2) potlights 3) downlights. So if I add two more switches for the mirror and the non used box above the mirror, that will be one too many switches... Like a freaking control panel in the bathroom

Got this one in store for $79.

Installed and connected to main light switch. Drilled and wire fishing. It turn on and off with the main light switch. Have three light temperatures. With each press on power button it switches between each. Keep it on for 15 sec. It saves the light preference.

I noticed it does not save the brightness level. Holding power button dims it...but don't know why can't I save it

Overall, nice mirror, makes washroom look elegant.

Why would you worry about someone in the future wanting to replace this mirror? That's totally their problem at that point.

1. I bought some Artika lights to use as garage lights. While they are not always on for extended periods of times, they are both working fine and don't have any issues with them
2. I think they are just the regular LED strip you can buy online anywhere nowadays, at least they are LED strips for my garage light. I would say they are good quality and haven't notice anything wrong with my garage lights.
3.Yes, here's the installation instruction: Artika Vanity Mirror Installation

Would this mirror light be enough light to be the only light in a small powder room?

Modern design
Aluminum frame
Hardwire installation
Integrated LED Light, no bulbs required
Even light distribution
Touch to dim button
3 variations of light color temperature
Anti-steam technology, touch activated
Brightness: 1400 lumens
Lifespan: 50,000 hours
Color temperature: 3,000 - 5,000 K

Looks like this needs to be hardwired

1400 lumens would be plenty

That's what I said too :) my brother is trying to convince me it should be easily swappable for "standard light"

As in you put an appliance box behind the mirror and you connect it inside the box. Same as any permanent light fixture.

Any electrician can estimate a quote for installing this? Would help the impulse buyers here on rfd

I think it really really depends on where your appliance box is located. if it's behind the mirror then it's like 5 minutes to connect it. if you need to run a brand new line or move the box etc then sky is the limit.

Don't forget about the switches for....

-heat lamp
-heated floors
-heated towel rack
-electric window curtain

We have too many options these days....first world problems.

exactly. it's OK, I will just install an ethernet relay board, then I can simply VPN into the lights control network and SSH the lights ON/OFF. just need to get better at typing fast on the phone in case its a bathroom emergency.
PS I actually installed tubes for a hydronic heated floor but didn't have time to hook them up. that would be a whole different project with pumps, heat exchangers, thermostats etc etc.

what’s the estimate range? People need to know to add to the cost of getting this.

I have all the lighting in my house automated using motion sensors with SmartThings and I was just thinking how I could install this. I'm not sure it could be easily automated with the touch controls that it uses. The hardwire connection could be controlled by a smart switch, but I don't that would help.
