[Costco] Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 14" Ryzen 7 4700U 16GB 500GB $929.99

Costco has dropped the price of this popular laptop
I purchased it a couple of weeks ago and will be going back for an adjustment.
It is 999.99 instore so it should be $899 which is a great deal.

Pros:
90 Day return period
2yr Costco warranty

Cons:
16GB ram soldered
Canadian-French KB
Wifi 5 (easily upgradable)
No pen included

Not a bad deal considering Costco's extended warranty (and ease of returns).

Shame about the bilingual keyboard, though.

I have gotten used to it.
Had to reinstall Windows as a US region to get it from defaulting to the Canadian format and installed Sharp Keys to bind some keys.
I am a hunt and peck typist though.

Interesting that Costco is also selling the intel version with English only keyboard also for $999 regular price. Wish they would give the option of English or French keyboard.

Buying a bilingual laptop was the biggest mistake I have ever made in purchasing electronics. I tried to convince myself that I am going to get used to this crap and after over a year I still have not and I kick myself. Please don't make a mistake as I did. My kid hated this also so I couldn't even convince him to take it off my hand so I could buy myself another laptop.

I believe it is 250 based on the reviews.

I have one of these and the wifi wasn't good. Kept dropping for no reason. I bought and intel wifi card and replaced the original and it is now much better.

Which intel wifi card would you recommend for this laptop ?
Preferably with Bluetooth 5 if available.

Thanks

I bought one like this wifi adapter. But google and you'll find helpful videos on how to replace the stock adapter. Also, it's theoretically possible that things have improved since July - I'd definitely try the stock wifi before upgrading.

The wifi cards suck on these. I replaced it with an aftermarket part for around $25 off amazon.

Upgrade it to an Intel chipset wifi card. Fixed the dropout problem

Do you happen to know which pen works with this very model ?

I found some conflicting information. Some say Active Pen 2 should work, others assure Active Pen 1 is the only compatible stylus.

Thanks
