[Costco] Lenovo IdeaPad L340 15" Gaming $799.99

This laptop is selling on Newegg for $1099 and on Lenovo site for $1039. I am sure that with some extra coupons / ebates the price can go down at Lenovo site, but I do not think it will be close to $799.

Looked at the laptop at the local Costo store last night and it seems pretty good. I know that Legion laptops will be much better, however for the price and considering that I will be using it 3-4 weeks a year, it does seem like a good deal?

Lenovo site allows the upgrade to GTX 1650 for only $67.50, too bad Costco doesn't have that card as an option :(

Processor: Intel Core i5-9300H (2.40GHz, up to 4.10GHz with Turbo Boost, 4 cores, 8MB Cache)

Hard Drive: 256GB Solid State Drive, M.2, PCIe-NVME
Display Type: 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, 250 nits, anti-glare
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 3GB

A GTX 1050 non-ti is good enough to run anything if you turn the settings down. It's not great, but it slays Intel and Vega 10.

How is the screen on this laptop? Seems like a good price.

Interestingly, the pictures all show an optical drive but the description says no optical drive included. Curious what they have in that slot instead of the CD drive.

Right but you can get the Intel and Vega 10's in the 499 range on sales. I feel this is the new normal price but they are trying to "clear" it out using clearance naming, but really it's what it's worth.

Got an Asus with 4gB 1650 for less than this.

I mean it's alright but should be a normal price, not a sale.

How much less? ASUS build quality usually is where the compromise kicks in... Lenovo tends to have better overall workmanship and "behind the scenes" components.

Two major breaches of trust in quick succession. Sure, it was 5 years ago; that's why I asked if they have proven to be better.

One has no reason to care if one does not care about privacy or security.
