[Costco] LG 32" Monitor $199.99

Just bought LG 32" for $199.99 (after discount $23). I think it is a good price.

These monitors are huge but with 1080p resolution it's terrible for using.

OP, valiant effort. We merely point out the facts for our cautious audience.

Thank you and have an upvote.

This would make a pretty good monitor for consoles
When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

How far is a good distance for this monitor?

Honestly, whatever you're comfortable with. In 2015, I used a 42" Insignia 1080p from 2 feet away, other than the Gamma Rays emanating from this cheap panel, it was a livable experience.

Someone as new to this world as you seem to be would probably be fine with the visible pixelation because even 1080p @ 32" is better than what we had for many many years, as children.

Can you do better though? Yes, and not for very much money.

I'd say about 1m, maybe a bit less

Doubtful, the cheapest I've seen was $350 for a 32" VA 4K panel.

Best deal is still the Asus / Acer 1440p 32" when they go on sale for $300

YMMV but I've seen the LG 32" 1440p monitor for 289.99 at my Costco for the past few months.

Funny you say that, how many workplaces offer worse setups for their employees? I'm sure he'll be fine at any productive distance.

Speak to the you from 5 years ago, and see what he says.

I'd say unless this is solely for console gaming where 1440p will never be used and you'll probably lean back in your chair increasing the distance,
the 1440p is way nicer, even if its only for browsing. It has a higher ppi than 1080 27" which many people find acceptable (I personally don't though).

If you don't want to spend the extra just save some money and buy a 25" 1080p

Also HDR is just a gimmick on this monitor because it can only reach 250nit peak brightness

Still a good choice, yes.

They were my go-to solution until the whole TV-as-Monitor idea started to rustle my jimmies again in 2018.

Here we are in 2019, and the LG UM7300 43" IPS 4K TV (2019) fills that 'best deal' spot for me.

That said, if you're deadset on a respectable 1440p 32", there are still $299-or-lower deals just around the corner.
