[Costco] Motorola One 5G Ace, 6GB RAM, 128 GB Storage Unlocked Smartphone, Volcanic Grey - $359 ($50 OFF)

The deal is back after 1 month. $359 online, I assume in-store $349.

Get it while it's still hot.

Awesome phone, snappy with 6GB of ram, and a battery that runs well for 2 days.

Not a good phone imho.
The deal was not hot either.
So may other good options around...
And it is 1 year old.

The only pro I see is its network coverage

I might be in the market for an Android phone. What would you recommend instead at around $350?

Not many options for mid range unlocked phones with a 90 day return policy. Especially not for $350. The S20 FE is much better but also $300 more.

Picked up a OnePlus Nord N200 for my mom: https://www.oneplus.com/ca_en/oneplus-n200-5g (On sale now for $280)
Android 11 with possible Android 12, and should get security upgrades until 2024. The Motorola models don't seem to be well supported in terms of getting updates.

Camera is probably not the best, but at this price point, not much of them are. Feature wise it doesn't seem too bad, all things considered.

could some experts chime in Nord N200 vs Motorola One 5g Ace?

I have Moto one 5G Ace and I am very satisfied with the phone. Great storage, memory, good screen (not great), decent camera. It's a great option for people that don't want to spend too much on a phone but still wants to have a decent performance phone.

Moto: 6gb ram, 128 storage, Snapdragon 750G
N200: 4gb, 64 storage, Snapdragon 480

Both phones are mid range, I find it hard to find a decent alternative at $350 (other than poco, redme or some other no-name brand).

Overall, Motorola brand has a better resell value than OnePlus if you are in for the short term..

They removed the posting from the front-page search, but I had the link saved in my browser.

I would never recommend the OnePlus line. Since the OnePlus 7, they have released constant buggy updates breaking daily used features. While Motorola they don't support updates for the long term or typical tenure of a phone, they're updates are solid. Owning both phones, I would go with the Motorola

Sign up BYOP with Fido and check out their preowned phone deals.

I got my dad a moto edge plus for 4.65 a month for 24 months on his current 40 dollar plan.

Condition is like new. His last used phone I got him lasted 5 years.

Theyve got the LG velvet for similar price too but the OS is bloaty.

My thinking is buy a premium flagship thats older because theyre much better than buying a newer economy phone.

I have had this phone since this deal was first posted back in November(?) 2021. This might be the 3rd time that the phone has gone on sale for $350.

I am not a heavy user or a tech/spec type. This was a good choice for me as my old phone was acting up. My primary reason for choosing this phone was that it has 128Gb memory for the $350 price (less a $25 voucher at the time). Adding the processor, 5G, etc. was nice for me. The camera is just ok, but I don't mind. Once set up properly, it has been fast, smooth and pretty much flawless. I'm sure that there are people that will say that there is something better out there but this works for me.

Have you tried searching on the app by typing "5g Ace". It should bring up the product description. Works on my app. Maybe there's a glitch?

My humble feedback, this OP phone is a reasonable value.

You might also consider an S10 or S10e, which can be had for less.
- Faster CPU
- Nicer OLED screen
- 8GB RAM / 6GB RAM

The catch, you'll be buying refurbished.

I respect buyers of both the Moto and Samsung.

They might unveil the successor to this phone sometime this year. Hopefully with Android 12 preloaded.

Network coverage might be ok depending on where you're going. Friends and associates from Canada would often buy a cheap Android phone from Costco when they visit a foreign country but I've been told it's become less and less common now. However, it's not a world phone. For that I visit Apple's website and look at their latest model and see what bands they use. It seems finally (now) Apple's iPhone 13+ are true world phones.

I have a new ZTE tablet with a meagre 2 or 3GB of RAM running Android 10. It's ridiculously slow and it should be a crime to put a newer OS on a device with such poor specs. Let's hope Motorola doesn't think like ZTE.
