How convenient ;) Anyway, it wont be the first time Costco staff claims a deeply discounted item is "on hold" for someone to pick (check the Samsung UHD BR player thread).

BTW, per Costco.ca return/exchange policy, only returns can be done in store, exchanges needs to go through Costco.ca. Furthermore, the bundle online has a different item number and its not recognized as an instore item (you don't get the "item may be available in your local store" message on the product page).

The whole thing sounded sketchy I agree, but I didn't feel like going any further with it.

Thanks OP, I was able to grab one from the deep south in Alberta. When I called they had 6 when I got there they only had 3 left!

$50 in gas and over 5 hours in time, definitely not worth it... especially if you compare with eBay offers of 359.99 or 369.99 (sometimes with a $15 or 15% or 20% coupon too)
Yup.

For me, Toronto to Orillia:

2.5 hours in the car round trip, lost wages of 3 hours, plus prolly $40 in gas, whatever you value the mileage of 250km on the car.

These are constantly $350 to $400 on Ebay, new in sealed box. Not worth going on a big crusade to find one at Costco.

But congrats to those who got one, nice deal.

Already Arms popping up on kijiji for $60
If I didn’t live almost an hour away from Costco I would probably get in on this deal but I have no time to play it so probably just as well

ya, they suck with that.. lots of times people just go to the customer service to ask for the product instead of grabbing the paper at the aisle.. so as stock goes down, the paper is there still, they never bother to take them off after to match the stock.. Also, there are people that make deals with the stores and purchase bulk. When the PS4 Pro was $150 off back during boxing day, they had 20 units, i wanted one... they said sorry its already spoken for to one of their wholesalers... was weird.. i explained i drove almost 2 hours for it. They felt bad, and they "spoke to their wholesaler" who agreed to let me buy one of them, and they sold to me. (Fyi i drove literally 15 minutes only *troll face* )
Yup, Costco is full of resellers and generally d*ckish people, at least in the GTA.

Yeah not worthy the hassle, but I would have asked to hear this story from the "store manager" before leaving (at least to make sure that (s)he is into this with them  ), as I said, when I called that very same branch earlier today I asked about the holds and they said "we don't do that, if you want it come and get it", but I guess this was before checking the price ;)

Don't bother making the drive to Orillia - a friend went and someone bought 3 units right before him.

Hi there,

Well, Candiac sold out. They open a bit earlier, so whoever got there early before opening managed to get one. I got there at opening. :( They only had 5 left ish. All Quebec stores are sold out, except Quebec City and Dummerville has a few.

Well, better luck next time.

Ju Leon...
How is that possible lol, there was 5 left and all 5 were gone before you got there for the opening ? Seems weird

I think they are not allowed to purchase during their business hours, thus the whole "on hold" scheme.

So Kelowna had a bunch (20 or so) tags out but when I brought them up, they said they were told to stop selling them and were in the process of removing all the cards from the section now. Very strange...
