You should change your title *

FYI … horrible article

* BECAUSE … It’s OPINION / SPECULATION … based on observation … BUT NOT FACT = NOT JOURNALISM
(Cuz FACT … Costco Canada hasn’t been reached for comment )

The exact same info could be garnered off of this website
Here’s the RFD DISCUSSION THREAD (also opinion / speculation)

** People need to understand that not every website produces TRUE JOURNALISM BASED ON FACTS
A lot of what folks read Is just OPINION
And many opinions are just guesstimates

I didn’t say that part wasn’t true …
I said the ASSUMPTION that Costco is no longer selling iTunes GCs … forever … is SPECULATION
And not so far based in fact

Costco has delisted GCs before
Certainly during the pandemic

Only to carry them again down the road

But also if the manufacturer / retailer chooses to make a change

Example … when Happy Cards change their Partners listed on a Happy Card
The old ones are withdrawn from stores … and new ones featuring the new partners are then restocked in their place

Without Costco … or anyone else IN THE KNOW making an actual factual statement …
Be it Costco … or Apple
All of this is JUST SPECULATION at this point

Beyond yes … at this moment in time … Costco doesn’t seem to have iTunes Cards listed on Costco.ca
And some RFDers are reporting they are also OOS in some warehouses
(BTW there are 134 warehouses in Canada )

Even the writer of that article admits its all speculation at this point
It’s unclear whether all Costco stores will stop selling the cards as well. MobileSyrup has reached out to Costco Canada for more information and will update this story once a response has been received.
Like I said, sh!tty bit of writing
No journalistic integrity

Basically gossip!

If they really won't be selling them anymore then I think that's a sign Apple is finally going to be bringing the unified gift card system to Canada.

I hope their financing plans will become available in Canada as well.

I agree with you …
That could indeed be Apple’s plans for the future
A Cdn version of their unified Apple GC *
But so far no official word from either Apple … or Costco on the GCs they do carry / plan to carry

And as of last week (June ) .. I still saw the iTunes GCs for sale @ other Retailers.

* Personally I hope that isn’t their plan
Cuz I like being able to get the iTunes one on discount / sale / promo so often across many retailers
I don’t think I have ever bought an iTunes card for full face value

Cuz the unified GC can also be used to buy hardware … it seems to always sell for full price

it would make sense since we know that Apple is going to unified cards, so this could be a step in that direction. I hope it's just a short term pause and they'll come back but my expectations are low.

Lol, just make sure where you buy is listed with Amex as GROCERY and not GENERAL MERCHANDISE (ala the Big Box Sores)

Do you have a current offer for that right now? Not me.
PS like my Amex points, it's not technically a discount. It's pay full price and get an e-coupon you can use for free groceries later.

It might be. We ran super low on iTunes gcs and have gotten new apple gcs that look completely different. It doesn't say iTunes. It just says it can be used for iTunes.

I'm guessing Costco will eventually get theirs. I mean I remember running out of the 100 dollar iTunes GC at superstore and only could find 25 to put out. Then we got the new cards.

I am pretty sure Costco will not get the unified gift card. The reason is simple they sell hardware product. Also, since the unified gift card in USA, Costco USA never sold the new gift card.

I wonder if Costco will stock Google Play cards at a discount if they don't replenish with iTunes cards or Apple unified cards?

Do they look anything like the designs seen here?

https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-giftcard/giftcard

Because if it does that means it's going to be a unified gift card, and they probably just haven't "activated" them.
