Costco Northrock bike advice

I am looking at buying costcos northrock xc27 bike and have a budget of $400-$500. Im wondering how this bike would compare to any Gt bikes or if this bike is any good.
I am not an expert rider and just started mountain biking.
Included are pictures of the specs

there are several threads discussing entry level bikes.

where do you plan to ride it?

What kind of riding do you do?

How tall and heavy are you?

I am 5 foot 8 and weigh 180lbs. My plan is to start on beginner trials and make my way up to more advanced ones. I will not be jumping the bike like crazy but I want something that can take beatings and last a long time.

This is not that bike, unfortunately. At $400, there is no way that suspension system will be on any benefit (unless adding weight to the bike is a benefit).

Happy to provide other options, but $400 is not going to get you a trail bike that can take beatings and last a long time.

Agree. When OP said "mountain biking" I think he/ she was implying the occasional unpaved trail.
