Costco Oil Change

Both my cars use 0w-20 grade oil but my local Costco doesn't seem to stock this grade in Castrol on their shelves

If I get an oil change there, will they use the correct weight? The Kirkland brand is available in 0w-20, would they break out a case of this instead?

You should probably ask your Costco.

Hmm they used to advertise 0-20. I just had an oil change and noticed the numbers are not advertised anymore. My car drives ok so hopefully they put what the car needs. But i’d like to find out too.

The bill just says castrol synthetic.

1) pick up phone
2) dial Costco
3) ask technician

That said, you'll have better luck going in person and asking. I find they never answer the phone.

Location dependent.

Eastern Costco still do it, but they apparently don't allow walk-ins anymore. I had to reserve a time through their online portal. If you want to do one though, you'll have to do it before the winter tire rush (so by mid-October). They guy there told me once winter tire season starts they won't be doing oil changes as they just can't accommodate.

The social distancing must be hindering their logistics. Normally when I go they have 3 or 4 bays going at a time. Now they seem to be only using max 2 bays, spaced apart. Also based on the time slots too.

They stopped doing dyno oil changes but still offered synthetic changes and bumped the price from $50 to $60 if I remember correctly.
