Costco Online Returns no Longer Free ?

The return process for sending back merchandise bought online seems to have change. There is a new form and a statement on one of the Customer Service page saying : "Refunds for returned items shipped through Costco.ca will include shipping and handling fees and they will be credited to the credit card used to place your order."

Are they saying we will be charged a shipping and handling fee that will be reflected in the refund amount or that they will reimburse the full amount that include the shipping and handling fee that is baked into the website prices? With that statement both could be true...

The French version is a bit less ambiguous and seems to imply that there will be fees for shipping and handling.

To me, French or English, it mean you will get back all your money, including what you've paid in shipping and handling fees.

Call Costco customer service and ask them.

I think what they stating is when you buy from Costco.ca the price of the item is more expensive because it includes shipping and handling. So you will get that shipping and handling back if refunded

Ya that’s what I think it means too.

Op, here’s an example to make the wording more clear WHY it’s there

So, for example, right now from the flyer (info taken from Flipp )

You buy Tetley Tea (300 pack size)

Regular Warehouse Price = $ 10.99
Current Warehouse Price = $ 8.49 (ON SALE = $ 2.50 Off)

Current Costco.ca Price = $ 10.29 (ON SALE = $ 2.50 Off )
Regular Warehouse Price = $ 12.79

There’s a price difference here between the Warehouse and Online of $ 1.80
No matter when you buy it ... regular ($ 12.79 - $ 10.99 )
On Sale ($ 10.29 - $ 8.49 )

That’s the SHIPPING & HANDLING FEE

Thing Is no matter how you return your Costco,Ca purchase online or in store (YES you can do this)
They will ensure that you get refunded the appropriate S&H Fee too

So you won’t get shortchanged by $ 1.80 ... just cuz the item in store is less than it is listed for online

That’s all that blurb on the website means
