[Costco] Panasonic 5-blade ARC5 Multi-Flex Pro Shaver with Cleaning Station Model ESLV97 $199.99 (after $70 OFF)

Panasonic 5-blade Multi-Flex Pro Shaver with Cleaning Station Model ESLV97 $199,99 after $70 OFF

Basically, cleaning station is free, the ARC 5 shaver is the same price elsewhere WITHOUT the cleaning - charging station.

Features:
5 arced blades with 30 degree Nano-polished inner blades for efficient cutting experience
Shaver head moves in 16 directions and follows the contours of the face and neck
Up to 70,000 cross-cutting actions per minute
Washable design for easy maintenance

Panasonic ARC shavers are well reviewed, and beloved by many RFD'ers. I own an old ARC 3 shaver for several years and been pretty happy with it. Smooth and close shaving, No need to replace it, still running, but I'd jump on this if needed.

+1 for these shavers. I have an older Arc 5 and it's still running strong. Zero irritation, which I always get from disposable or safety razors. The cleaning station is a gimmick though but it looks nice.

The crappy part are the replacement blades and foil. You're supposed to replace them once a year, and those cost $25 for the blades and $65 for the foil, so $90 bucks annually.

I haven't checked Philips or Braun to see if their blades are a bit more cost effective.

I've had my Panasonic shaver for approximately 10 years and never replaced anything on it. It probably would perform better with new blades and a foil, but I don't feel like they need to be replaced either.

However the 3 camels say that this can drop as low as 149.99, so there is a better price for those not in a rush.
Are you looking at the US site??? Lowest it's ever been on Amazon is $200.

10 years is probably pushing it, and the longevity of the blades also depends on the coarseness of your hair. If your face is like a baby's bottom, then yea 10 years is probably fine.

I cheap out as well and replace the blades every year, and the foil every two years.

Its actually the same price at bestbuy as well.

This is a great price. @Hanatan is incorrect on this exact model with the cleaning station unless they can provide some links.

It seems to be a manufacturer's discount, as Panasonic.ca is selling for the same price. Link is being broken by RFD's affiliate link system.

If you don't care for the cleaning/charging station, then Amazon.ca is selling this for $166.

Picked this up for $229 a while back. How long does Costco do prime matching for?

Alternatively, the Arc5 without cleaning base can be found on Amazon.com for around $99 USD at least once a year:

https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Electr ... 00JWP8F3I/ ($99.99USD - Previous Model Arc5)

https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Electr ... 07W7XK55Q/ ($119.99USD - Current Model Arc5)

Shipping was only ~$10 to Ontario, and I wasn't charged for duty a few years back - I ended up paying $120.30 USD total after taxes and shipping for the $99.99 model. It looks to be the same situation now.

Just checked my 3 camels again and indeed it was hooked up to Amazon.com.
My mistake. Sorry folks. I guess this may be the best Canadian price we have seen yet.

same here, less than 10 years, but way more than 1 year. Useless to replace this after 1 year. Still shave and cut like day 1 is my guess

Almost 2 years with my Arc5 shaver, and haven't noticed anything different with its performance. I've made it a habit to wash with soap and rinse thoroughly after every use. The design of the foil and blades simplifies maintenance compared to rotary shavers.

Which one is good for medium thick beard? I have to stop buying Gillette overpriced razors.

I, personally, after trying Phillips rotary (the worst) Braun and Panasonic I prefer the Panasonic. I own the ARC 3, so my guess is the ARC 5 is the best, but have not tried it.

30 days from purchase. May be more, depending on clerk and warehouse. Huge YMMV for more than 30 days

How is this compared to Braun 9330 which was recently on sale at Walmart ($190)? Any personal experiences?

I have not tried Braun 9330, but I prefer my lower end ARC 3 shaver above the lower end Braun I tried. Shaving is kind of personnal experience. If you are looking at Braun, it is $5 cheaper than the Panasonic, including the charging - cleaning station the-bay-braun-series-9-9376cc-electric- ... 9-2507830/
