[Costco] ProForm Trainer 12.0 Treadmill $1899.99

ProForm Trainer 12.0 Treadmill $1899.99
This top of the line Proform treadmill. It’s on expensive side but, looking at the specs, it’s in line with the top of the line more expensive units aka Sole S77 and F80

Some of the important specs are
3.8 CHP Mach Z motor (as confirmed by one of the owners of this treadmill Olbi, see his post few posts below, and in line with my own experience with Nordictrack 2150, the actual motor in this treadmill is 4.25 CHP)
22” wide X 60” length deck
2.5” rollers (nowadays all higher end nordictracks come with 2.5”, unlike seven years ago the standard for higher end was 3”)
32 workouts
Decline -3% and incline 15%
Smart tablet compatible
Warranty:
Parts and deck: 5 years
Labour: 2 years
Frame and motor: For as long as the original purchaser owns the product
One year iFit included
Having Bluetooth connection you can use other systems like peloton l, Apple fitness plus, etc.
It’s auto follow workout incline/decline function is pretty good, my wife likes it when she does her walks in outdoor mountain area workouts

All around this one looks like mine Nordictrack Commercial 2150 minus smart screen (good in my books) and smaller rollers. This is a solid runners treadmill.

I ordered one back on Dec. 30 for this price and received it just last week. If you are thinking about it - don't hesitate the next one may be months away.

The treadmill is great (so far) but I am having issues with the iFit app. 3 of 4 runs have stopped midway through. I am communicating with iFit tech support but it is a long process. (full disclosure - I have an old iPhone and am mirroring through Appple TV so that may be the issue.) The portions that did work were excellent and there is great variety in the workouts.

The treadmill is heavy! Even with 2 people there was lots of sliding the box to get it in location.
I was able to assemble by myself - but it would have been easier with a helper.

Mine came with the NordicTrac Graphic on the upright posts which may be because there is such demand for machines that they are using the common parts to fulfill orders.

Wow this is great, 22" wide and 3.8hp for under $2K... I would definitely have bought this if I didn't already have a Horizon 7.0AT on the way to my place.

I should have mentioned in my post - Love the size of the deck! I am 6'3" and the running space is excellent for me. I never feel close to edges or end.

Sort of interesting fact. My Nordictrack 2150 had very similar physical characteristics. The motor, incline/decline... deck is 60” though. But, when I opened the motor cover to replace the motor belt I noticed that my motor is not 3,8 CHP. It is 4.25 CHP Mach Z. I guess the model year they made mine they used that motor and not to impact on the sales on 2450 model they advertised 3.8 CHP.

Or sell it BNIB for a profit! If it doesn't sell you can bring it back to a warehouse.

I got the ProForm 12.0 from Costco last April and the motor is the same: 4.25 CHP. I guess that the specifications are for 3.8 CHP, but they install what they have in the warehouse as long as it is at least 3.8 CHP.

I like the treadmill a lot, but it is big and heavy! I had to disassemble it and the put it back in the basement since there was no way to bring it down otherwise (too many tight turns and low ceiling in one spot).

Cool, we got better deal than we expected. That’s positive or negative marketing depending on what side of the equation you are.
How much did you pay for it then?

I have issues with the iFit as well - there aren’t mid-way stops (probably one approx. 2 weeks ago), but usually the video quality is bad until 10-15 min. in the workout. After several tries, I found a workaround that works every time (so far 🤞): I start the workout, dismiss the warm up and, if the quality is bad, I cancel it. Then, when I start it again, the video quality is great. Note that I haven’t tried any life workouts. I read that people have issues with them.

Hope this helps.

Same price. Quick delivery and I asked the guys to put it in the garage, which gave me the space to disassemble it and bring it piece-by-piece in the basement.

Hey Olbi, ref88 and gena_mak, and anyone else who has this treadmill - got a few questions for you if you don't mind:

- How do you find using it without iFit? Are you able to bypass it easily? I'm assuming you can since it has the 32 on-board work outs programs?
- Since it has Bluetooth for iFit, does that mean it can connect to Zwift?
- Any other issues or quirks to note other than iFit not working properly?

There's barely any reviews online (written or video) so appreciate any insight you could provide :)

I ended up grabbing the last one and I think I'll keep it since it's an upgrade over the Horizon, in terms of deck width and motor size. Oh and I guess purchasing through Costco is a plus for me too for any issues...

I never had iFit. When I bought my nordictrack 2150 iFit was not offered as a free trial like now.
In my nordictrack I have few free iFit outdoor runs. Nothing special, they are not with instructor type, just picture moving alone like google maps. I have used included workouts, they are categorized type like weight loss etc. Some of them are quite intensive.
I do not use any as I enjoy just running, jogging and walking as is watching tv with Netflix, prime...
Though, it’s different with spin bike. I am using echelon subscription.
I think it’s because when I run, it’s not as boring as when I am spinning.

iFit: No issues at all using it without iFit. I saw reviews from people having issues with iFit with workarounds how to cancel the iFit connection (you need to press and hold the iFit button for 30 sec. There is a video for another ICON treadmill here), but I had no issues at all and with any iFit prompts - the treadmill just worked right after I plugged it in. For some time I used it without iFit and I'll continue using it without iFit after the free trial ends. The on-board workouts are nice, my only issue with them is that there is no detailed information about them (e.g. when and how much the speed and incline will change during the workout).

Bluetooth: I have never tried the Bluetooth with anything else other than iFit. I remember seeing reviews that it works with iFit and Bluetooth heart rate monitors, but I don't know whether it will work with Zwift. I found one app (RunCline) that connects to the treadmill and it looks like it can be used with Zwift, but I haven't tried it. I might try it after my iFit trial ends.

Issues/thoughts:
  • The issues with iFit I mentioned are with the iFit app/iFit servers/connection to the servers, not with the treadmill.
  • Sometimes when unplugged the treadmill will lose its settings and its incline calibration, so when you plug it in and put the safety key it will go up and down to calibrate itself. This is normal, but mildly annoying, so I keep mine always plugged in a surge protector to prevent that.
  • The heart rate monitor on my treadmill is not working well. I think that it has a connection issue (one of the left contacts doesn't seem to work), but since I'm not using it (I find it awkward to walk/run while holding the bar and I'm using my Apple Watch for the exercises anyway), I haven't found the time to disassemble it to see what the issue is.
  • I haven't lubricated mine yet (it comes per-lubricated), but it is time, so I ordered lubricant from ICON Canada (list of parts is here). It is very cheap (CAD $1.50!) for a pack which is good for 2 lubrications. I looked at Amazon and not only the lubricants are way more expensive, but I saw a lot of stories where people used the wrong/bad lubricant (although all are listed as 100% silicone!), so I decided to get the correct one. As an added bonus, since I ordered some other small parts, the agent made the whole order as a warranty order and it was free with free shipping (YMMV, of course!). It was a very long wait on the phone, though.
  • Get someone to help you with the assembly! Although it can be assembled by one person, it will be much easier to have someone help you especially when aligning parts!

Hope this helps.

[Edit] Sam's Club sold the same treadmill last year; they now sell a treadmill with the same name, but it is not the same treadmill. Just keep this in mind when looking for information for it.

I have done a couple manual runs and walks and everything seems to be working well. I have not tried any of the programmed workouts yet.
I was able to go through an entire iFit run by hardwiring through a VGA adapter to my TV. SO I think my problem is with my home network being able to download from iFit and then mirror on my TV.

I think the bluetooth is only for heartrate monitor and iFit.

I also checked the deck height because I have seen that question about other treadmills. It is 10 inches. My ceiling is 8 feet and I am 6'3". I have no clearance issues even on incline.

I hope you enjoy - I see they are no longer available.
