PS4 - Deal?

I searched but maybe I didn't use the correct terms and this may have been posted.

Since I am not really a gamer it may not even be a deal but I have been looking for a PS-4 for media duty and found the following.

PS-4, 500 gb, two controllers, Last of Us download, $499.99 plus purchase Modern Warfare (or whatever it's called) for $69.99 and get $60 credit. So $499 + $69 +HST minus $60.

Attractive?

That does seem like a better deal, TA&B but a quick check of The Source shows the black controller (didn't check other colours) is sold out online as well as most of my local stores. The ones that do seem to have them only have a couple available in stock. Can you get rainchecks if they are OOS? Haven't bought anything at that store in eons.

Right now you can buy a PS4 with last of us and get any game for free.(Including CoD advanced warfare) Plus add any controller for 49.99 at Amazon.ca, Futureshop and Bestbuy. So the Costco Bundle is 509.99 with CoD, where as if you buy from the other 3 guys it would be $499.98.(Plus you get to choose any game, and remove the second controller if you wanted to, so overall more options) You could also price match the controller to get the bundle for 489.98.

The amazon/bestbuy/futureshop deal ends in a day or two though.

Thanks for the heads up!
So I guess - assuming I am okay with getting COD - the "convenience" of buying at Costco (am a member, 90 day ease of return and am there frequently) will be a $10-20 upcharge on the best deals you mentioned.

You can tell you're not a gamer when you hyphenate PS4.

What type of media duty are you referring to? you may want to rethink what you're purchasing

you better do some research then, as sony has "pulled an apple" and disabled all video, video/music streaming, mp3 and cd music playback, in favour of you paying big bucks for their proprietary ecosystem of 'media solutions" like their video and music services/subscriptions.

you buy a ps4 and you're buying an expensive ticket to sony's "walled garden" - it's still great for gaming, but that's really all it does. the xbox one looks like a far better solution to your situation, and it's cheaper too.

Definitely do NOT buy a PS4 as a media player.. get a PS3 or Roku or Apple TV, etc.
Always in search of a great deal....

why do it suck, the PS3 sucked as far as im concerned. Had to transcode all MKV files to VOB files so it would play. I don't have a PS4, but does it media serve or not?

Always good to hear that my Hoover Vacuum 2007 gen 1 PS3 excels at one thing over the PS4.
