I am shopping for a scooter for my son. That's not the model I had in mind for him but now that's it's on sale I checked the reviews.

A lot of people complain that this scooter does not offer a smooth ride. The wheels are wide, but they are not large and this does makes it so you can feel the road a lot, too much for some.
So perhaps this scooter is better suited for very nice road and the skate park.

I'll skip.

Edit: typo corrected

Since when did $50 become a hot deal for a scooter?

I remember these things used to be $20-30 being the norm when I was in my teens. (Yes yes time machine grampa comments) then they died out

Serious question when did they make a comeback and get so pricy?
I had my eye on those adult size battery assisted ones, saw people riding them in europe all over the place while I walked like a sucker.

My nephews are really into these things, and they take them to the local skate park. I decided to hang out with them at the skate park one day, and noticed the majority of kids had scooters. There were a few kids with bikes and skateboards, but the majority had scooters. After talking to my nephew about them last night, he was saying the $50 scooters won't cut it. They're meant for young kids around the age of 6, even though they say they're for children 6 and up. The more advanced ones for older kids is what he was looking at, and those range anywhere from $125-300. The one he had his eye on costs about $250. Some Madd Gear Pro scooter.

Realistically too old to be buying Lego but I still do. Grinning Face

AFOL!

But really someone did a calculation Lego per piece has come down in the last 10 ish years and large sets have gone down in price if you factor inflation in.

yep, nowadays if you are getting a scooter for someone over 5 years old you need to go with a trick or skate-park scooter. Costco.ca has a couple of the razor ones for about $150.00.
