No issues with the IR remote and having the box out of line of sight (ie, behind the TV)?

Seems like a great deal considering the price of the Fire TV Lite these days.

Edit: Answered my own question.. Boo :(
Remote Control

Remember when I said that the Roku Premiere's design was a serious flaw? Part of the reason why is how the device interacts with the remote control. Unless you pony up $50 for the Premiere+, you'll get a simple line-of-sight remote. Naturally, this is a problem if you stick the Premiere behind your TV, or if you're not sitting directly in front of your entertainment center.

Roku says make sure that the front of your streaming player has direct line of sight with your remote control.
DO NOT place your streaming player behind the TV.

Does Firestick let you sideload right out of the box or do you have to actively change some settings so you can side load?

But if you just need it for streaming the Roku interface is miles better then the new Fire Stick UI.

In terms of laggyness, will this be more like a built in smart TV function or an ATV? Was waiting for Prime Days to get a Firestick 4k for my secondary TV's but the price of this looks good. My only concern is I hate laggyness.

Great value here! I’ve been a long time Roku user and their recent purchase of the Quibi library added a lot of great content.

Definite conflict of interest I would wager LOL. Bell would incinerate any and all streaming services and devices if they could get away with it. Even the ones they resell as they would rather OWN it all... LOL

4K streaming doesn’t need that much bandwidth and ac range is worse

does any one here own a Roku? Is it any good? I have the US Roku subscription which includes the website streaming and such.. and has a pretty good variety of shows.

The canadian site doesnt really detail the list of shows they have. The american side has lots of retro shows.. like A-Team, they had the original Adam West batman, and hercules (kevin sorbo or wahtever). lots of filler shows to have run in the background.

is there any notable shows on the canadian side?
