This TV is a decent deal for 85" but it is an edge lit panel. For about $3k you can get a Sony X900h 85" which has full array. This makes a big difference for Non-oled panels, do some brief googling and you'll see why.

I think value-wise the < Samsung 75" 4K UHD HDR LED Tizen Smart TV (UN75TU6900FXZC) $899.99 till Dec. 3> is better.
What's do you think about the Hisense as another budget 85?

Looking at specs, it's pretty disappointing for a QLED series to be 60hz, no full array local dimming but brightness seems alright for HDR content. Last's years 82" RU8000 deal was better per dollar, even though not QLED at least it's a 120hz native panel.

Get a good 75" and move the couch a foot closer.

I was debating between the q 60 and lg 8570 but choose the q 60 as rating said is was a better tv..Well I just get that deal and I was hoping to have wow effect ...well I am not .....comming from a Pana 60 inch plasma the size is awesome but the tv quality is not a wow ...maybe because I am running bell satellite so no 1080p content just 720 . I have a question on a big size like that will spending an extra 1000$ to get the 900h be worn it ? Or will picture be the same ? As I thought they could upscale tv to 4k or so

You have two things to consider here, screen size and resolution of the content being outputted. If you step up to a larger TV, the lower resolution content will appear more "blocky" looking. So I would suggest trying to watch at minimum 1080P and idealy 4K content on the Samsung TV to experience the full benefits.

One last thing to consider is, each TV upscales and outputs content at various resolutions (i.e. 720P-1080P-4k-8k) differently. For example, My Vizio P65-F1 is noticeably worse than my Sony X900F was at outputting Rogers Cable. But if you were to watch 1080P or 4K on both the picture quality is pretty close to par.

It's hard to justify a HiSense for $2k. Your better off getting a crappy LG/Samsung for $2100 which would also be 85in. If you really want a large TV, you might wanna consider the RCA Walmart had for $998. For a 82in its pretty cheap, but i felt like with all the extras (warranty, streaming stick, shipping), it still ended up costing $1200

My honest opinion had the Q6DT 70” back when Costco gave the 250 cash card

It was good not going to lie but dark scenes from Witcher had to be adjusted and the wife hated the UI and I thought it had the iptv app but discovered they removed it last year

When BF happened the 75” Sony 800H turned roughly same price so I returned my Sammy and let’s just say the wifey loved it
UI and android was much easier to navigate
Also when viewing Witcher in dark scenes was a little better

sony 950g , 950h are best TV models in the planet. 4k though. I still think pictures from that is like its window into another world.

i went last year and checked out all TV including sony 8k master model. Nothing come close to the brightness and contrast of 950G
Absolute bright and absolute sharpness.

May be bestbuy adjusted the settings for 950g and others not much? i dont know.

But 950G is full array TV . 950H 2020 version

OLED ? i dont care much about all those stuff. Does it look like real image ? window into real world without smudges or fuzziness.

if sony makes 8k on 950G/950H technology its worth buy. But sony 8k dont look as good as 950G on bestbuy display

Best is go check out those tv's personally before you make up mind. Cost is one thing. But anyone who buy a TV for gaming should only buy full array as you probably closer to screen than watching TV.

Watching TV it do not matter that much. its more of bigger screen you need for TV watching.

What does Dolby Vision really do in the real world? Does the content need to be Doing Vision certified ?

FrankyCastle wrote: I think it's fair to ask for others' opinions, like if someone else here has this model of TV and can point out what they like and don't like about it.

Anyways, lack of Dolby Vision might be a dealbreaker for some.

Quick Question, if you're gaming mostly on it, should you not go for OLED but go for QLED/LED TV instead due to fear of burn in? Like if you play certain games over and over again, they have static HUDs, wouldn't those burn in after a while? Trying to decide what tech to go for.

But if you're watching TV, another question is the Rogers cable subtitles, will those burn in as well over long periods of time? Watching CP24 was also a concern but don't watch it a lot to fear for burn in.

Thanks

Well I will be returning my tv to Costco as soon as i Find the 900h cheaper as refresh rate is not the greatest. Lots of bluur on fast movie or tv show maybe on a 65 you don't notice but 82 it's annoying

Rtings has a good video on burn-in, probably want to avoid if you watch a lot of static content.

Yea I saw that video, i just don't know how much improvements has been made on the C9 vs the C7. However if NOT going for OLED, I guess the Samsung Q90 or Sony 950 are the best alternate options?

Q60 doesn’t have HDMI 2.1, thus not good for next gen gaming (ps5 etc...) but prolly good for just watching tv shows.
