[Costco] Samsung NU7100 40" TV 4K60 @ 4:4:4 - $349.99 [Costco] - Others: Amazon, BestBuy, TheSource

Retailers
Costco - $349.99 New @ 40" In-Store ($29.99 for 5 Year Warranty)
BestBuy - $369.98 New @ 40" (10% Off Open Box) - Credit to the one-man thinktank: @lincoln
TheSource - $379.99 @ 40" In-Store

This TV is highly regarded as a decent value-for-money 4K60 4:4:4 monitor. As a VA, viewing angles aren't the best, but at 40", if you're sitting back far enough, the issue largely goes away (get out your protractor folks).

Samsung NU7100 Recommended Calibration Settings
Good TV for use as a PC Monitor. It has exceptionally low input lag and chroma 4:4:4 is properly supported. Unfortunately, the viewing angle isn't very wide.

Returns are painless, and the units are rated as 'Very Good' condition which normally means they're in nearly flawless condition.

This is a controversial post, but I take risks for the betterment of your viewing experience.

After setting all inputs to UHD Colour and tricking the TV into thinking the PC is a Game Console by calling it "Game Console" which unlocks all the TV adjustments settings and finding game mode (its on the quick menu not the picture settings) THEN doing all of the Rtings settings (set the colour temp to your preference but Warm 2 will grow on you over time) I can safely say that as a RGB 2160p 60hz monitor the responsiveness, colour accuracy, sharpness, are all superb and second only to monitors costing twice as much.

4 units remaining @ 40".

It appears one of the line items represented 4 units of stock, after testing an order.

What does an OP have to do to earn upvotes? over 1000 views and only 5 upvotes. Are we rfders stingy with the +votes? lol

I have been using a 60 inch Samsung for 3 years as a monitor (4k, 60hz, 4:4:4 chroma (text looks sharper). And I will never go back to a regular monitor. Sure it's not ideal for gaming but everything else rocks.

nice experience, how far eye distance do you take while the normal ergonomic recommendation is 50 cm ?

I normally don't recommend Amazon Warehouse flash-in-the-pan sales, but this TV is highly regarded as a decent value-for-money 4K60 4:4:4 monitor. As a VA, viewing angles aren't the best, but at 40", if you're sitting back far enough, the issue largely goes away (get out your protractor folks).

I probably won't buy a used unit, but +1 for the education about using a TV as a monitor. Been wondering about this for a bit.

Fair enough, these 'very good' condition units are typically open box returns... they're marked as used but I don't treat them as such.

The exceptionally friendly and free returns through Amazon.ca make the whole process pain-free.

These are on sale at Costco for $439.99 to end of May. Can't beat the $29.99 for a 5 Year warranty. Even if you don't buy any additional warranty, Costco provides 2 year.

I have one and am impressed. It has thin bezels and thin profile. 200x200 VESA mount as well. Never thought to try it out as a 4K monitor but will try it. If it works, quite an affordable monitor.
