[Costco] Samsung S20 FE 5G Cloud Navy $640

Hey all, I was shopping Gloucester Costco and saw this deal.

I'm not most up to date on the cellphone world but this seems like a good deal.

Costco has it on sale for $647.99 online.

It's $650 at Best Buy and $620 on Studentbeans/Perk IIRC.

In comparison, if you have SB/Perk and an old Galaxy phone, you can get $300 off the base S22 to bring it to around $700. It's a new flagship with 4 years of Android updates.

Given the difference, it's hard to recommend the S20 FE.

Meh, the S20 FE has expandable storage, which is not something the S22 has. The is one of the last good phone with that (the Note 20 Ultra is harder to find for a good price).

I would think the s21FE will soon be at the price of the S20FE. I would wait.

Like many, I was disappointed when phones started removing expandable storage and headphone jacks. My current phone has both. But I hardly ever use the headphone jack, and my files are uploaded to the cloud. Having backups is a prudent practice after all.

The S22 has 128GB base storage and up until a few days ago you could double it for free. With most music and photo libraries in the cloud I don't think expandable storage is as important as it used to be.

But to each their own.

Personally, I like to store movies, TV Shows, and games to play using emulators on my phone, because I don't always have access to super fast internet speeds. Ultimately, it depends what you use your phone for. Most people don't ever need more than 128 GB anyways; it's always to have options though.

Wait until the Galaxy A series launch in 4 days..... You can get a reasonably priced midrange that could get 3-4 years of updates for less.

Which one are you talking about? There are already A03, A13, A52, etc. are already out.

Just searched it up. A leak (that happened yesterday) revealed that they're having an event on the 17th to unveil the new Galaxy A series phones apparently.

Edit: Samsung Galaxy A73, A53, Galaxy A33, and A23 are expected to be revealed.

Kinda crazy how it's still the same price when I got the S20 FE a year ago when it first came out.
Samsung also gave free Samsung Buds at the time as well.

There's a leaked poster for the Galaxy A series 2022. There will be a A33, A53 and a A73. Launching in 4 days on Thursday.

Last year Canadian availability wasn't until late April so we might have a month or two to wait.

An almost 2 years old phone with no eSIM support is asking only $640. Great deal, Samsung fans, go go go!

Why would you suggest someone get a low end 2022 over a flagship 2020?

It's not a LOW end, those phones are mid-range.
Longer update policy on the higher end A series. Samsung will give up to 4 Android updates. Whereas this S20 FE will get one more update.

Assuming you aren't being sarcastic, all FE versions are closer to the mid-range and are not really flagship. Plus, the A52 was like 80% of what the S20 FE was. Assuming the 2022 A series will have microSD support (and maybe even a headphone jack), it will likely be better in almost every way.

Edit: They removed the headphone jack that the A52 had.

Edit 2: It also has a worse CPU. The A53 will be ass and the A73 likely won't even come to Canada.
