Hi,

I see that both Samsung UN65NU8000 or LG 65SK8000 are on sale at costco.ca (lesser than the boxing day prices)

Check CanadaComputers in store clearance prices regularly for these not too popular models, got the LG 65SK8000 for 700+tax not long ago.
Not buying something on sale ISN'T a crime, buying something not on sale IS.

imo , 1k $ budget get an m65 or hisense and for 2k $ get a sony x900 f but in between the p65 is way better than those lgs and sammys as they are edge lit

Tried Visions today for the 900F. The best I could get was $2198. Told them no, I would wait.

please remember if your after a sony x900 f that the blooming and also ghosting can be an issue from panel to panel so unless that deal is a to good to be true save your 500 $and try a vizio p65
this was my journey with 4k s and finally landed on something i love ....if you want ato spend 2400$ you can get pq65 and that is a superb tv .was 1999 a week ago

We got a vizio m65 and I'm not totally happy with it (looking to sell it likely). I simply can't deal with the smarttv interface and the overall look of the TV.

Just watch out for the proprietary Tizen Smart TV software, as we have a relatively new Samsung TV (in use as our primary unit) that recently lost of pile of Streaming Apps, including CBS All Access (which we pay for) and were forced to buy a Roku dongle for $50 and lose a valuable HDMI slot.

I have spoken at length with Samsung tech support about this problem, and they freely admit to not having many development people working on Tizen, and apparently if an app starts giving them problems they just delete it and it never comes back. This is straight from Samsung and it's been my personal experience as well. Samsung loves to send out press releases promoting their Tizen Smart TV additions, but these apps tend to disappear over time.

Like this: https://www.cbs.com/recommended/news/10 ... smart-tvs/

"Starting now, CBS' premium digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service is available on Samsung Smart TV users with Tizen models issued in 2015 or later. " - Yeah right!

Samsung wants to save the licensing of an established and stable Smart TV software package like Roku, Fire TV or Android, so they create their own little slap-dash homebrew to save $$$, but then the company is so cheap they seemingly don't want to pay anyone to continually develop for it. My bet is Tizen is now a one-person op, with a poor guy dedicated to deleting problematic apps from all existing Samsung TVs.

If you are buying a Samsung Smart TV, ask to see CBS All Access on the floor model before buying it, just to confirm that you aren't getting obsolete software right out of the box.

I recently found out Samsung tvs don't support DTS which is incredibly stupid in 2019 when all other tvs support it

first i got the m65 and loved it but then knew that if i do not get the better p 65 i would regret it and i was right .i looked at all tvs but samsung nu 800 and the lg no dolby vision and no fald edge lit
it all depends what you want ..i also got 2 android boxes one is a shield and one a 4 gb tq95 and couldnt be happier and never ever depend on your tv or any tv smart features they all suck
now if you do not like the tv look overall then sell and get whatever ...

correct no dts and they are cutting channels out ,had a samsung b4 and was a great 650 series but that was 10 years ago .now no more sammys as there are ads in their main menu and reliability is terrible but shopping at costco wont really matter with a 5 years warranty
