Costco Seasonal Tire Swap (Not on rim)

Does anyone know how much does it cost to do the seasonal tire swap for tires not on rim?

Currently leasing a car for four years with 20 inches rim, am considering just buying the rubber.

20" winter tires are expensive. If your vehicle can be downsized to 18", then consider getting a cheap set of alloy wheels and tires. Sell them when you are done after 4 yrs

typical wheels & tires shop charge around $120 (set of 4) + taxes for your size. So, you are potentially looking at around $1,000 over 4 yrs for the changeovers.

You are right that downsizing to 18" would save some money. The reason why I am asking this is that I heard Costco charges $15 per tire if not on rim, so the saving isn't that huge. In addition, even the 18" rims with tires on would be quite heavy (I am not a strong guy).

I have 18" winters on rims. They aren't too heavy unless you're getting run flats. You'll save more downsizing and getting them on rims. The switch will also be done faster so you save time as well each time you need to change. If the weight bothers you then maybe you can consider tire storage.

My local Costco in Newmarket now charges 19.99 per tire up from $15 but now also has a policy stating that they will not install tires unless they were purchased from Costco. Is this the same policy across all Costco Ontario / Canada locations now?

As of last Nov

$19.99 X 4 - tires not on wheels(8 tires, 4 wheels swap).

$9.99 x 4 - tires already on wheels (8 tires, 8 wheels swap).
