[Costco] Shark IQ Robot Self-Empty XL Vacuum $389.99 ($100 off)

Been looking for a self empty robot vacuum, almost bought this full price last week.

Good value according to this:

Update: $379.99 at the warehouse

Not sure if the Shark IQ got any better, but a year ago I returned mine after a month because it is one of the stupidest robot vac I've used. All it does is bump into things and get stuck, no different than those stupid vac bot that just bump around things. There's no intelligent at all with this one.

Can confirm $479.99 - $100 at warehouses until 06/20/2021

$379.99, so $10 less than online which is pretty typical for Costco

According to the video, this is the first gen model which had issues with mapping.

I have this Vac. It works really well from a vacuum standpoint, but it does have limited mapping/gets confused fairly easy. I love it, and for the price I don't think it can be beat. Yes it will bump into things, and bumble along, but its an absolute champ when it comes to actual vaccuming. I have 3 kids and 2 dogs and this thing runs every day, totally saved my sanity.

Seconded. It does a much better job at picking up pet hair that my Eufy, mapped my house successful in 2 runs, and has only even missed once or twice rooms when either doors were closed or it was very dark.

App works well, the only thing is the base is quite loud when "Evacuating," so if you have a little one or something like that it's something to keep in mind.

At this price it's a no brainer.

Mine never gets stuck unless it happens to close a room door.

There shouldn't be anything in the house that'll cause them to get stuck. Wires on the floor?

This is not the first generation model. I ordered it last week. It's second gen and has the floor cameras. Works great and mapped my apartment on the first try. It's awesome, much better option than the roomba i4+. You didn't watch the video properly as it clearly shows that this is second gen based on the picture.

Feature wise it seems pretty comparable, but I'm sure that Roomba's software is probably more mature. However, this still works really well.
A few notes:
1. Volume is pretty good while running, not annoying. Only loud part is the discharge but it happens briefly.
2. Mapping is generally good. Mapped my apartment on the first run. However, it does make mistakes, takes some time to get to specific rooms, and one time started cleaning some rooms that you didn't ask it to. It's generally pretty good though. Might delete the map it made and let it run a few more times before accepting so that it is more accurate, as once you have accepted the map isn't further refined.
3. Unlike the roomba does not use bags, so no extra expense.
4. Firmware updates aren't user friendly, you need to go on the chat on SharkClean.com and request that they push updates to you, which is weird.
5. Supports google assistant, but unlike the roomba 7 and 9 models, you can't tell the assistant to clean specific rooms.
6. Picks up a lot of dust, and heavier particles (like cheerios) easily.
7 It goes over door thresholds without issue.
6. Only supports a single floor/floor plan.

The one he reviewed is second gen with the small base. But the costco model is the same second gen technology but with the bigger base.

Does this support multiple floors? Can I just pick it up and put it in my basement and take it back up when it's done?

Yes, but with no mapping, at will clean endlessly until it runs out of battery. I haven't tested this but got this answer from support.

It uses a camera, mapping in the app is below average.

Yes and no, it can't map multiple floors in the app but it will clean the floor if you tell it too. Just bring it up with the station and push the button on it to start.

It comes with some magnetic strips you can lay down. Once you have a map you can also add 'no-go' zones.
