[Costco] Simplehuman 45-L Semi-round Stepcan $59.97

Marked down from $97.99 to $59.97.
Currently $99.99 from $116.99 on Amazon.

For a stainless steel can, it’s a great price.

This was at the Heartland location, maybe 9 left when I was there.

Are their any advantage of stainless steel ones over plastic ones I can get from Walmart for $30?

I have the bigger version of this one (double). Beautiful quality compared to anything else. Yes, you can hang a plastic bag for no cost but I walk passed this everyday and its a nice looking addition to the kitchen.

I debated the Walmart ones at first. Eventually caved and grabbed this back when it was $97.99. It’s much sturdier and never had any issues with odour.

Purely aesthetics.

Simplehuman has sturdier parts than cheaper units. I turned the old trash can into the recycling and any time you step on the pedal, the bottom pops off. If you look at the parts connected to the pedal on the underside of the can, you will often see a big difference there.

I will concede that splurging on a garbage can is weird. But if you have the means, I highly recommend it.

Why spend 30$ when you can just get an old box and put the garbage bag in that. When the box gets worn down get another one.

I am not a simple human fan by any stretch but 60 for a can that is backed by them is a great deal.

Dang it. Why I didn't think of using a old box instead of buying a 30$ bin from Walmart which has served me well since I bought it 5 years back.

For those who are interested in buying, note that the trash can has an extrusion from the rear to make space for the hinge. So if youre hoping to put it against a wall or island, you will see some space between the wall and the trashcan. No biggie, but a FYI.

Why don't you dig a hole in your backyard and poop in it? That way you save water and you can also save toilet paper if you collect rainwater to douche as well.

Aside from all the build comments, warranty as well

I've done a warranty claim on another SimpleHuman item in the past. Mailed a brand new replacement within a day

For anyone who has this, what size garbage bags work with it? I’m not one to buy bags. I reuse grocery or shopping bags. Would these be too small?

If you can afford it. It’s a no brainer. I held out for years. After the can I got from winners had the foot part snap. I picked this one up. I like the way it uses up the entire garbage bag. Many cans fill up but when you pull the bag out it’s only 1/2 full.

Not just aesthetics. It's more reliable. The cheap one usually fail at the lid bracket hinge and you end up throwing it out. For this price I might consider buying one.

Some people think of saving $30 some don't. Some like stainless steel garbage cans with an amazing warranty and some like to buy plastic items from Walmart.

Idk about reliability, I have the double with recycling, it's purely aesthetics for me; I have no idea how you're using garbage cans.

You can call your local Costco and ask them if they have it in stock and the price. Just give them the item number.
