The one at Costco is semi-round and the one linked on Amazon is rectangle. Not an accurate price comparison.

My personal budget does not allow for over $100 trash containers.

Edit: OP updated with the semi-round Amazon comparison.

I love the simplehuman trash cans and have their voice activated model, but be prepared for an onslaught of people saying this is too much money for a garbage can. I can easily justify the price because I see it and use it everyday and it compliments my kitchen decor. I also love the other simplehuman products. We have the shower caddy xl, and my wife has their 8" touch mirror.

I bought myself a Simplehuman garbage cab a few years ago, which was more than this one. But it had a bin for recycling as well and I gotta admit.. sure it's just a garbage can, but I don't regret my purchase one bit.

Mine is still like new and has good weight to it where it doesn't move one bit. The easy bag storage on mine is awesome and super convenient.

I have a simplehuman garbage can with both waste and recycling. When I bought it I was like “I am clearly insane now spending 200 on a garbage can.”

Well I would do it again in a heartbeat. Worth every dollar.

They're both 45l so I don't see the difference besides shape?

100 viewers in thread ...seems a bit weird for a trash can lol

I like the dispenser inside the trash can to hold replacement garbage bags. On a side note, I scored a good deals on some simplehuman garbage bags through amazon warehouse deals. They said the packaging was damaged, and there was a small rip on one corner of the box, but the condition of everything inside was mint... and who cares about the packaging of their garbage bags...

My roommate at the time said the exact same thing when I bought mine. Then throughout the months he was like wow this thing is actually amazing (and laughed a bit since he was complimenting a garbage can of all things). Then he ended up buying one for his new place! haha

I can also see them lasting for a very long time.

Edit: A word :/

Some of us got this for $15 a few weeks ago:
home-depot-hdx-50l-6l-trash-can-set-20-ymmv-2286780/

I think these simplehuman threads are ok to post, but don't use superlatives so much. They just invite unfavorable comparisons.
I don't have those kind of garbage cans but after seeing it in person, I think I will get one as well sooner or later.

Just use regular bags you find at Costco. Fits fine.
