[Costco] Sony 65-in. XBR65X950G $1998.00

One day only @ costco.

Best price I have seen so far for this model. Only wished the promotion applied to the 55" also. Still debating on whether to order it. Haven't seen the Sony x950G in store at costco yet. Oh, and same price on Amazon.ca for non members (states 23% off, it was at this price for 2 periods last month). I suspect it will hit this price again in the next 4-5 weeks.

Cheers!

Is it worth the price compared to the high end Vizios?

I know Vizios get a lot of notice around here and can be great bang for the buck, but honestly, IMO, this Sony is in another class. And this is a good price.

Thank you for the insight! I am in the market for a TV but the price is a bit high for my budget. Should I wait for Black Friday instead?

,

There is a member on here that has a hook up at his secret location for this TV. Price maybe a few hundred dollars cheaper.
If you can hold on until black Friday.
Up votes, down votes, they're all votes for me! I thank you!

Sony must take Costco sales very seriously - they respond to every review on Costco.ca. Would expect Sony support to be good.

According to rtings compare tv with x950g and p Quantum x 2019.

Vizio 'S p Quantum x is better.

It seems x950s color and pq is pretty good.but p Quantum x is the same or better (Wider color gamut)

But 950g has some issues regarding local dimming.

Do a bit researh before you buy or return it if you do not like it.

It is costco so you should not need to worry about it too much.

Would you have to play the panel lottery with the Vizio?

I think that depends.

If you get a bad panel from both brand you woukd need to exchange it anyway.

The Vizio scores higher in some areas, but I wouldn't say that review defines it as "better". In any event, the Vizio is 250 bucks more than the Sony.

Am thinking, if you're buying UHD at $2K, why not add more money for OLED?

HDR peaks. Plus some of us are still too afraid of burn ins.
I know that in real world burn in shouldn't be an issue. But do I want to risk 2G$ if I'm really happy with Sony Bravia?

Plus, Android TV is great (IMO) and even though it's no nVidia Shield, the X950G finally has a upgraded SoC.
