Not a bad deal actually, especially with the C1 still at $4997

Ya I thought so too, gamers will pick the C1, movie and TV watchers will pick the A80J.
I'd like to get the A80J myself but the wife says to expensive. I have a 60 inch Panasonic Plasma which still looks fantastic by the way.

Great to see 77” OLED prices coming down. Still a bit too much for me … maybe in 1-2 years. Thanks OP.

LG still a better TV.
ex:
If you want to enjoy both Dolby Vision and 120Hz simultaneously, only the LG is able to achieve that. I believe it's a chipset limitation on the Sony, so no future update will be able to fix it. Probably not a big deal for most, but if you have an Xbox Series, and you're gonna drop $5000 on a TV, you'd want that

I personally bought the A90J TV recently and it's absolutely stunning. Wish it was available at Costco.

A90J very very nice TV but it's to pricey for me and the A80J is supposed to be pretty close to it as it is their next inline OLED. This A80J is still a bit to pricey for me even on sale as I want the 77 Inch size.

Enjoy your TV.
Take care.

Price reduced to $3500 in US, so should be closer to $4200 in Canada currency adjusted.

If you go to Visions they can do ~$4200 including shipping, try your local Visions to get the better deal. This is offered by the Visions in Vancouver.

The Sony is more accurate out of the box and usually does upscaling better, but yeah, my OLED preference is Panasonic > LG > Sony.

I have the 77" A80J just got it a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. That's a good price I guess I should have waited oh well. It's a glorious TV I'm very happy with it.

Went with it over the LG because of better near black handling and better movie/motion handling. I don't play games so didn't really care about that aspect. Plenty of great comparisons on YouTube on the differences between them, but when talking to home theatre enthusiasts for movies/tv shows it seems to be pretty unanimous Sony > LG. If you play a lot of games its a no-brainer to get the LG though.

Depending on where you bought it from you may still be able to have a price adjustment and get $700 plus taxes back.
