[Costco] Sony WH-1000XM3 for $279.99 in-store, Sony WH-910N for $149.97 in-store

Location this morning, Newmarket ON.

Both in store.

I've stopped following headphones prices, but this seems ok. I'm assuming as per typical with Costco, these are older models.

Sony WH-1000XM3 for $279.99
Sony WH-910N for $149.97

I don't own gen 4, and Sony wouldn't do this, but bring on the gen 5.

FWIW, I have the XM3, and they are great for phones, come with an app, suppress noise very well. Great for planes, trains, and motorboats!
But with PC, no app, choice of Bluetooth connections:
  • WH-1000XM3 (good for music, no microphone)
  • LE_WH-1000XM3(microphone + earphones) is mono and crappy sound with dropouts on Zoom.
You can use a wired connection - cord supplied, eg, while gaming

Gen 4 WH-1000XM4 has the same problem.

The Fredericton NB Costco has these when I was in a few days ago. Didn't bite since multi-device support is a must for me; my hope is the XM5s get announced soon and the XM4s drop

Ditto, need the multi device support and prefer to have Bluetooth 5.0 and the slightly better ANC, but if they’re dropping the XM5’s soon, then I may as well wait for the price drop for that. Lowest I’ve seen XM4 go is $399.

XM4s were $350 at Amazon and bestbuy during late 2020 for over a month.

They do have multipoint, technically.

And the XM4s came out two years after the XM3s, so you'll be waiting a long time likely

Bought a pair last week, so far I love them, but I would not have paid more than the current 280$ IMO.

What Trottier as said is spot on, pretty much perfect for mobile devices, PC is a little more finicky. Also, Aptx support on PC is a bit more complicated as (for Intel Bluetooth devices), you need to fiddle with drivers to get it right.

Still worth it at this price.

If you guys are cheap like me, check amazon warehouse deals often. I got mine for $160 taxes in. Pretty much brand new.

dont know why people are down voting this. people on kijiji are selling these for $100 more.
and the xm5 may be coming out. the xm4 were the highest rated bt headphones until the apple ones topped them. sony has lost too much ground to apple. they are not going to let apple encroach on their audio.

I think apple's pricing and insistence to do apple-like things are apple's biggest problem. I think apple has the resources and knowhow to make better headphones, but they can't seem to escape what makes them who they are. I'm talking about the bra-phones.

FYI - bought the 910 and tried for a week with TEAMS WFH, can say it is not as good as my Bose QC35Ii, both in comfort and sound quality and noise canceling. Worst of all, it hurts my ears as the cup is not as deep for my big ears...so I returned it. Sadly...don't think I will try another Sony...will stick with my Bose.

Edit: wait this is the WH-

I have the XM4s and they're solid and this should be about the same. Remember to EQ it after you get it for better sounds since the default sound is too muddy

Ebay you can regularly get open box store return xm4 for 230 Canadian all in after the global shipping program. I got one coming in a few days. Back then I got the Xm3 in ear one for 120 all in. Maybe 130. Used for a while and sold for 120 on Facebook market in a day lol. Find the cheapest price open box on these sony if you can for minimal value loss later. Amazon open box cost a bit more on the 4s. I haven't had sony on ear before so give it a try see how much noise cancelling is vs the small in ear. I read a lot of people get ear problem after using noise cancelling for a while so I will find out. The sony headphone have very small audio quality drop with noise cancelling vs other cheaper brands

Great deal for these headphones if you aren't planning on using it for calls. Almost bought it until i saw the microphone not being so great on various reviews.
