$2K is a nice price!

The Sony X900F and the Sony X850G use different panel types, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, but the X900F is much better overall. The X900F uses a VA panel, and delivers much better dark-room performance, and it has a decent local dimming feature. The X900F has a faster response time, and supports 1080p and 1440p @ 120Hz inputs. The X850G doesn't look as good in a dark room, but it has a better viewing angle.
Recently bought the 75" 900F for $2500 and it's a tremendously good TV for watching movies in a theatre room setting like I have.

Costco also has the 65" X850G for $1333 right now. Sony X850G

I still think this is a lot for a TV that doesn't have Full Array LED Backlight. I think that's why it's contrast gets such a poor rating on rtings.com. The X900F does have full array and it's not much more so would be a better buy IMHO.

Personnaly I would have gone with Sony 900F if it didn't sell out on Black Friday. Instead I picked up the Vizio 65" Quantum X 2019.[/b]

Have not seen any better than $2998. I bought the 85" 4 days after the "spend 1500 get 100 ecard" promo ENDED and Costco happily sent me the ecard after I emailed them. Stacked the $20 email code as well so it was $2878+ tax for me. Coming out of TO though so its taking its sweet time to drive across country. I think it will go lower for boxing day and will pounce on Costco once again for a price adjustment. I went with the 850 for sheer size and viewing angle over better picture quality and $1000 more for 85X900F. They also had Sanus 150lb wall mounts on sale that week for $39 which is on par with Prime Cables brand. Sanus appears to be better quality and instructions as I have both.

Same here I bought a day before that promo happened and they sent me the $100 card, I even applied the Aeroplan code earlier so that was 3k points too. Waiting for boxing day! Hopefully it goes down. 900F with slower processor for $1k more did not make sense. Really happy with my 850G.

I got the same deal and looks like the black Friday price is the same everywhere minus the extra giftcard that was only offered at costco

Only thing I cant figure out is I programmed the sony remote to work with my hd box but I cant figure out what the "select" button would be on the Sony remote to turn on an awake my hd box

Actually Best Buy was also offering $190 gift card before the Black Friday sale, but not the $100 extra offered by Costco.

Seems like this is the same price everywhere not just costco, Sony MAP pricing is pretty on point.

Would be real nice if the 85 inch version of this tv dropped to $2500.... This is clearly a better tv than the RU8000 going by the rting review, despite that tv seeming like an amazing deal at $2000.....

Was hoping the 75” 900F would drop... between this one at $2499 and the Samsung 65” Q8 at $1999 (Gibbys)..:but pretty sure will go with the 75”
