As with Black Friday the price of the 75" is pretty much double the 65" .... no real deal for those of us looking for the larger screen unless we're willing to settle for the 850E for a thousand bucks less. The 900E is a better set but it's not $1000 better.Disappointed But Relieved Face

850e is bad?

I purchased the 850E, it's good if you're just a casual tv watcher who wants a big screen. It does the job, it's not the best but at the 75 inch range I think it's the best price to performance ratio. The other smaller sizes benefit more since its only a slight increase in price, whereas the 75inch on the 900E cost significantly more than it's lower end model.

Amazon has the same prices and both offer free shipping.
4x Aeroplan at Costco online, plus 2 year warranty for members and additional 3 years for $99

Huge 237 page thread for this model in the expired section. This is a popular TV Link

When you add to cart, shows $1697
Thanks for pointing that out. I guess the real comparison is then between the 55” Samsung 8000 versus the Sony 55” xbr900.

FYI - Costco offers an additional year of warranty over Amazon.

No comparison. X900e is a FALD. MU8000 is edgelit. X900e is worth the extra $200 for the 65 inch IMO.

Agreed. I ordered the x900e 75" and considered getting the 82" MU8000 which was actually a couple hundred cheaper than the 75" Sony. Still went for quality over size.

850d is IPS. 850e is VA....but half as bright as 900e according to HDTV TEST. 900e > 850e. 75 inch 850e appears to be IPS; other sizes are all VA.

Don't suppose if anyone knows if the Sonys are on display in an Ottawa (Barrhaven, Kanata, Gloucester) Costco? My wife always has one of those "I'm going to kill you if you buy another television" look on her face if I look down the TV aisle, so I don't know what they have in stock. There is no way that I'm dragging her out there tomorrow if there isn't one on display - there will be a Christmas massacre at my house otherwise.

Order it online and gift your wife a spa day on the day the tv arrives. Set it up. Get rid of the old set. Then act as if nothing happened

Anyone know whether Costco Customer service is open tomorrow Boxing day. Ordered the 55X900E and decided that I don't need a TV after all. So I sent them an email via their site to cancel the order (no option to do it yourself via the portal). It want them to cancel the order before the courier picks it up otherwise I'll just decline delivery when they call me.

The option to cancel yourself is there but it is only available for 1 hour from order. They should be able to intercept the order if you call in early enough whenever they start working next.

Having a real hard time deciding between this and the Vizio M55-E0... Obviously the Sony is better, but is it $500 better? The lack of tuner on the Vizio is irritating as the huge power brick on the Sony. Can't decide which way to go!
