We bought their solar string light from sunforce too. It stopped working after 2 weeks. Maybe we are just unlucky

Don’t know why I expected this to be recharged via solar. 20W would need a huge panel.

I actually cannibalize a lot of those ultra-cheap solar lights, and there are three main failure points which are not that bad:

1. Solar panel getting covered in mineral deposits/dust. Fix: Wipe it off regularly
2. Internal components not being waterproof. Fix: get a battery box that seals, and cover the rest in epoxy/hot glue/glass/whatever. Alternate fix: don’t use those outside
3. The batteries suck. Either li-ion (no real good fix here: li-ion is just a bad idea for solar lights), or low-capacity ni-mh (fix: replace them with a better ni-mh).

Since there are no moving parts and low power requirements, the rest of the components can easily last many years.

Couldn't find it in Costco Overlea Blvd this sunday even after looking up the centre aisles and the closer-to-wall-aisles with lights.

This post says $19.97 https://cocoeast.ca/item/1463977
