[Costco] TCL 50S533 $439.99

Costco just dropped this discount on the 50" S533 (Costco version of S535).

Pretty hot if you're looking for a smaller TV, comparable to Hisense Q8G and probably better than entry level quantum like Q60T...

How much is the extended warranty usually? When i check out it says $59.99 for tvs priced $500-$1000. Is there another bracket for tvs below $500? Isnt the warranty supposed to be $39.99? Is it worth it to spend $60 or $40 on an extra 3 years warranty on a sub $500 tv?

Thanks OP, missed out on the $399 Hisense and was looking at the Q7G/Q8G as a consolation prize at $550. Pretty easy decision when this TV is almost as good as that one but is $110 cheaper.

RTings comparison of Q7G/Q8G vs S533/S535

I was waiting on the 55 as a gift for my son, and went to bed disappointed.
Woke to this on sale and its ordered. I think this is the best TV under $500

Waiting for something to use my 10off code. This would be it. Hopefully it will be fine as a monitor!

For anyone who purchased did you get the $29.99 warranty or the $59.99? I find it interesting in the checkout breakdown it applies the -$89.00 discount on the whole order instead of on the TV making the TV over $500.
Hoping costco isn't using this just to get people to pay for the higher warranty.

First TV purchase from Costco for us. Used the $40 new member coupon we had as well. Replacing a 7 year old LG 3D TV LOL

Also, bought the $29.99 extended warranty. Seeing some other comments here, is Costco actually going to honour this rather than the $59.99 version? The TV is listed at $439.99, but the checkout makes it appear that they’ve applied some discounts towards the total order and that the TV was full price.

I had to manually search for the extended warranty at $29.99. And yeah it sucks, the discount is after taxes and not just on the tv. Is this normal?

Just bought the TV after searching for what 50 inch model to pick up. I opted for the $59 Warranty as the purchase price after tax was over $500 as is the regular sale price. If something goes wrong, I dont want to be had for $30 on a technicality. If someone confirms with Costco the $29 is kosher, please post here!

Hi, I called Costco.ca customer service, rep confirmed with a manager that the $29.99 warranty applies because the selling price is under $500.

Amazing, thanks for the extra savings Motorhead. Called Costco.ca, cancelled my $59 plan [they reconfirmed eligibility] and purchased the $29 plan. Now I have some beer money :)

Costco is charging an Eco Fee of $25 on the TV. Amazon.ca has the same TV for $449.99 but no eco fee, coming in $17 dollars cheaper than the Costco deal when GST and PST is added. Anyone know if Costco will price match or cover the fee?? Not sure if the fee varies by location. I'm in BC.

But then costco insurance is way cheaper so would definitely just go with Costco, especially with their return policy

Amazon's supposed to charge the eco fee. It's things like this where they "conveniently forget" to do.

FYI - In Alberta, it works out to the same because it's $10 for the eco fee ... and Costco has the better warranty though.
