I'm streaming 50gb+ 4K .mkv Files to mine via Plex and never had any issues. Have you tried resetting etc?PapaTroll wrote: ↑ It's funny how they state these are "4K" yet when I've tried to stream a 4K mkv movie it was buffering like there's no tomorrow. Guess local 4K but not streamed 4K cuz the lan on this is sh1t. My nvidia shield in another room plays the same file without a single issue...So now I'll need to buy another nvidia shield to plug to this TV, Roku is plain garbage. My house uses an ASUS Wireless RT-AX88U router and most things are wired with a Cat6 wire including this TV. I use an Emby server to stream all my content.

Make sure your Plex streams at original rate and not compressed. I just can't get anything over 50+ GB to stream on this tv. My Shield tv, and fire tv handle it well. This tv can't and my fire tv is wireless streaming.WollaBilla wrote: ↑ I'm streaming 50gb+ 4K .mkv Files to mine via Plex and never had any issues. Have you tried resetting etc?

New 55" on amazon is listed at 825. I wonder how that will translate to real world pricing when its released

Considering the 75”. Now to preorder from amazon or wait for Costco?YYJTravel wrote: ↑ FYI to peeps here, new details around the new 6 and 5 series got released. Here is the link to TCL's Canada website: https://www.tcl.com/ca/en/products/home-theater
Needless to say these new models are looking to continue offering solid bang for buck. The new 5 series QLED has up to 80 FALD zones and the new 6 series QLED is Mini-LED and has up to 240 FALD zones.
Hopefully they get QC on these models right, esp the DSE panel lottery. Will be interested to see the sale price of these models, especially for BF.

Are you using direct play without transcoded subtitles? I wouldn't assume this TV to be able to play files like that natively. Hell, even my Roku Ultra had trouble playing some 80gb blu-rays, which my Shield was able to handle effortlessly.

How is Amazon for tv purchases? I’ve only bought from Costco, but I have some gift cards for amazon.

I ordered the 65r635 from Amazon. If Costco gets it before Amazon gets stock then I'll get it there. It's supposed to be $1299 so getting it for $1168 isn't bad I think.

Definitely turn off motion smoothing settings otherwise things will look like they're stuttering and lots of motion blur.freeisbest wrote: ↑ How are these for watching sports, anyone provide some feedback please and tia.

Waiting for 635 to get in stock but need a TV for living room. Don't feel great about buying the 613 and returning it but might use it for another room when 635 is in.

I don’t know this for sure, but after year 2 it’s a third party warranty and you deal with them directly (they even cut you the cheque). So that’s positive.
The membership has too much value to me to give up though, so I won’t be able to test this theory. If I were you I’d ask an associate at the membership desk, or even call a warehouse - they’re usually pretty helpful.

I looked into this as well as I plan to cancel my membership next year. Basically year one is manufacturer / Costco. Year 2 is Costco if you have a membership but if you don't then your credit card can do the extended warranty for a year two. Year 3, 4, 5 would be the extended warranty that has nothing to do with Costco.
Having said that , the new TCL 65Q625 for $ 1186 on Amazon is looking pretty good. That'll either drive the price down eventually here for that set and / or the Hisense H9G which is overpriced to begin with.
Edit: 65Q635, fat fingers.

went to the store and only a 65in demo version was available. Manager gave it to me for $499, plus $29 for the 5 year warranty. pretty solid deal i guess

I prefer to pay under 1k for R617 then change for the newer model when it broken. R617 is very respectable model.

Before more confusion ensues, the posts should separate out the upcoming 2020 vs current in market....
